Continual Love

I draw you
with gentle cords

I take away the yoke
and feed

teaching you
how to walk

loving you
continually.

You are with me because You love me.

“I taught Ephraim to walk,
Taking them by their arms;
But they did not know that I healed them.”

“I drew them with gentle cords,
With bands of love,
And I was to them as those who take the yoke from their neck.
I stooped and fed them.”

“For I am God, and not man,
The Holy One in your midst;
And I will not come with terror.”

Hosea 11:3,4,9 NKJV

Serve Him

Submit to what
I tell you

remaining in
My love

for My yoke
is easy

it frees and lifts
you up.

Who I serve is established by You.

“I also spoke to Zedekiah King of Judah according to all these words, saying, ‘Bring your necks under the yoke of the King of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live! ‘ ” Jeremiah 27:12 NKJV

An Overflow

Even from this
destruction

righteousness
will overflow

and I will
take away

the heavy burden
and yoke you know.

Jesus establishes what manner of yoke and burden I bear.

“For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them will return; the destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness. It will come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” Isaiah 10:22,27 NKJV

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden light.”  Matthew 11:29-30. NKJV

Broken Yokes

“I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright.” Leviticus 26:13

We don’t always realize how burdened we are until someone lightens our load.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. (Matthew 11:30) And here is a simple poem . . .

Weight Exchange

Caught up in my own world
was simply crushing me,
bound, gagged and forced to run
when I couldn’t even see

til You broke my bonds of sin
and set me walking free
to carry a heart full of praise,
keeping my steps light and easy.

Yoke of Rest

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”  Matthew 11:29

Jesus calls all those who are already laboring and heavy laden to come take His yoke.  I hear myself start to whine . . .”But I’m tiiiirrrreeeedddd.”

We thank You that there’s a rest for our souls in laboring for You, Jesus, that nothing can disturb.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

No Retirement Plans

My mind may spin logistical
my body soon complain
but there’s a rest within my soul
each time I lift Your name.

Oh, I may need to sleep deep
and take a break now and then
but I never want to remove the yoke
from this lowly- hearted Son of Man.
