The One Who Saves

Your eyes shall not
search in vain
when they look
to Me

for I’m your Help
the One who saves
the Hope of your
glory.

You establish my salvation.

“Still our eyes failed us, watching vainly for our help; in our watching we watched for a nation that could not save us.”  Lamentations 4:17 NKJV

Watching

I am watching
always watching
and see
the good you do

turning away wrath
with soft answers
and a pure
heart too.

A laid down life is watched by God.

“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. The words of the pure are pleasant. The heart of the righteous studies how to answer.” Proverbs 15:1,3,26,28 NKJV

Jesus Watching

“And what I say to you I say to all; ‘Watch!’ ” Mark 13:37

We are a people who like to watch all sorts of things . . .sporting and music events, sunsets and sunrises, whales and birds.

Thank You, Jesus, for telling us to watch for the most spectacular happening ever – Your return to earth. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Something Else Is Coming

I watch for the postman
to bring me the mail
and I check to see what the weather
will be like as well
but may I never forget You’re coming,
to watch for You above all,
and listen for Your trumpet
to sound out it’s mighty call.

Continually

“He shall be in charge of the lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the Lord continually.” Leviticus 24:4

God gave the children of Israel many services to perform that kept them constantly cognizant of being before Him.

Lord, please help me to remember that I am continually before You . . .so I have constant opportunities to serve, praise and worship You! And here’s a simple poem . . .

He’s Watching

There is never a moment
when I’m not in Your thoughts

never a time when
I’m away from Your watch

not to police me
or ticket my moves

but to grow my love
and understanding of You.

Watching

“Watch therefore for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”  Matthew  25:13

When someone has told us they will give us a ride, we watch and wait for them to come.

Lord Jesus, thank You for promising to come again and pick us up for the ride of our lives.  May our excitement as we watch for You draw many others to start looking too.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Waiting For Our Ride

Watching, waiting
greatly anticipating
knowing what we see now
is not all there is.

For there will be a day
when all this passes away
and we’ll live together forever
as His.
