Watch And Pray

 

I have given you
a work to do
as you watch
and pray

for I am coming
back for you
and you’ll see me on
that day.

You establish my watching and praying.

“Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch.” Mark 13:33,34 NKJV

Watch

 

Watch
and be faithful

for indeed
I will come

in the clouds
with a trumpet

don’t be fooled by
any one.

You establish my watchfulness .

“For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with the great sound of a trumpet , and they will gather together His elect.” Matthew 24:27,30,31 NKJV

True Judgements

 

I am coming
to judge the earth
in truth and
righteousness.

Blessed are you who
wait and watch
wearing your praise
garments.

Jesus establishes judgements.

“And I heard another from the altar saying, ‘Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgements.’ Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches , and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” Revelation 16:7,15 NKJV

Watch

“Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming . . .” Mark 13:35 NKJV

“And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” Mark 13:37 NKJV

I can learn about watching from dogs as they look so diligently and eagerly for their master’s return.

Thank You, Lord, for the promise of Your return. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Please help me watch
and not grow weary

to look
and not yet faint

as the signs
of the time unravel

and Your coming glory
shines great.

Be Astounded

“Look among the nations and watch –
Be utterly astounded!
For I will work a work in your days
Which you would not believe,
though it were told you.”   Habakkuk 1:5

I need to be astounded.

Thank You, Lord, for the work You are working in our days.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

 

Lord, help me understand
the works You are doing
among the nations
and inside of me

that I might not be
shaken, dismayed
but watching for
Your redeeming mercy.
