Washed With Water

As Aaron and
his sons

went to Moses
to be cleaned

so we come
before our Jesus

to be washed
and redeemed.

**********

Lord Jesus, thank You for washing away my sins and making a way for me to be clean.

**********

“Moses said to the congregation, ‘This is what the LORD commanded us to do.’ “

“Then Moses brought Aaron and his sons and washed them with water.”

Leviticus 8:5, 6. AMP

Glorified

Let me glorify You
in my body

and in my spirit
for I am Yours

having been washed
and sanctified by You

justified in the name
of my Lord.

**********

You are with me and are glorified in me.

**********

“Do you not know that the unrighteousness will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived.”

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”

“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and your spirit, which are God’s.”

1 Corinthians 6:9,11,20. NKJV

Washed

I love you
and have washed away
your sins with
My own blood

making you
priests and kings
to My
Father God.

I am established in God’s Kingdom by the blood of Jesus.

“To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 1:5,6 NKJV

Washing In The Sea

“It was a handbreath thick; and its brim was shaped like the brim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It contained three thousand baths.

He also made ten levers, and put five on the right side and five on the left, to wash in them; such things as they offered for the burnt offering they would wash in them, but the Sea was for the priests to wash in.”  2 Chronicles 4:5-6

We have an old house and an old bath tub to wash up in.

Lord, thank You for washing us in Your blood, the only thing that can really get us clean.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Cleansed

Bathed in
His red sea
washed and
then set free
to worship
eternally
the Holiest
of Holies.

Eaten Away

“Then the priest shall look at the plague after it has been washed; and indeed if the plague has not changed its color, though the plague has not spread, it is unclean, and you shall burn it in the fire; it continues eating away whether the damage is outside or inside.” Leviticus 13:55

I’ve tried to wash away “plagues” by myself. It never works for me.

Jesus, help me run to You with everything, whether it is visible to anyone else or not. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Inside Damage

What is this plague
that eats at me
– consuming my thoughts
– and activities
keeping me from all
You want me to be. . .
– time to be cleansed
– and set free.

His Blood Be On Me

“When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, ‘I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.’ ” Matthew 27:24
“And all the people answered and said, ‘His blood be on us and on our children.’ ” Matthew 27:25

I understand the context in which the above words were spoken, but something in me wants to say “indeed” and “amen”.

Oh Lord, let Your blood be upon us and on our children, covering us and washing away our sins. Here’s a simple poem . . .

Rescued

I would that there
had been no cross
no beatings, no blood

but then there would’ve been
no sacrifice, no atoning
no forgiveness of my sin

so I stand within the multitude
guilty of Your blood
and rescued by its flow.

Coming Clean

“When they went into the tabernacle of meeting, and when they came near the altar, they washed, as the Lord had commanded Moses.”  Exodus 40:32

Moses, Aaron and his sons washed in the bronze laver before serving God.   Am I coming clean before God each day?

Thank You, Jesus, that my sins can be washed away  as I repent and confess them to You and ask for forgiveness. Here’s a  simple poem . . .

In Moses’ Day

Aaron and his sons
washed in the bronze
laver, but now
the laver is gone

and we each
get to decide
whether or not
to come clean.
