We Shall Walk

Come and I
will teach you

to walk in
My light and ways

to stay humble
and bowed down

exalting Me
throughout your days.

Jesus establishes my walk with Him.

“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. O house of Jacob , come and let us walk in the light of the LORD. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up – and it shall be brought low- . . .The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of man shall be brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day . . .” Isaiah 2:3,5,12,17 NKJV

The People Who Know

“Blessed are the people who know
the joyful sound!
They walk, O LORD, in the light of
Your countenance.
In Your name they rejoice all day long . . .”  Psalms 89:15-16

People of God hear, walk and speak differently.

Lord, we thank You for the joy and the light of Your countenance and name!  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Blessed Ones

They can hear their Lord singing
over them with delight

and walk in the joy
of His Holy might

all through the day
they can’t help but rejoice

in the beauty of His name
and at the sound of His voice.

“In Days Of Old”

“We have heard with our ears, O God,
Our fathers have told us,
What deeds You did in their days,
In days of old. . .”  Psalms 44:1

I love to hear what God has done . .. and is doing right now.

Oh Lord, we desire to be a part of the story You are currently working on.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Nowadays                                                                                            in_days_of_old_dvd

We’ve heard our father’s stories
all You did of old
passed down to us as treasures
to have and forever hold

still You are God Almighty
powerful in all ways
and so we seek to be a part of
all You’re doing yet today.

Abounding More and More

“Finally then brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God .. .”  1 Thessalonians 4:1

To abound more and more sounds wonderful.

Lord, we thank You and praise You that we can never come to the end of You.  There is always more.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

An Abounding Walk

Aub’s pine tree that almost died, but is starting to abound more and more!

Oh to abound
more and more and more

in the work of You
our Holy, Holy Lord

to walk in such a way
that we please You everyday

this is what we pray
oh Holy, Holy Lord.

Inside Out

“Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.”  Colossians 4:5

So thankful for Sue Miller, my aerobics and exercise teacher, who invited me in from the outside!

Lord, we desire to make the most of our time with others today, knowing how much You love them.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Living Out

Once on the outside
then invited in
running to give
everything to Him.

Now on the inside
but asked to live out
His mercy and grace
as I walk about.

This World Is Passing Away

“But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none,
those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess,
and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.” 1 Corinthians 7:29-31

I am more attached to the world than I know myself to be.

Lord, I desire to learn the difference between worldly cares and caring about the world. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Fading

The world that I see
keeps passing away
fading more and more
into the gray
so my hope and life
can’t be anchored here
for this temporary place
one day will disappear.

Bitten

“But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand.” Acts 28:3
“So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, ‘No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live’.” Acts 28:4
“But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.” Acts 28:5

We all get bitten in life. Others watch to see what will happen next.

No matter how much venom we get struck with, Lord, we desire to shake off anything the enemy tries to hang on us that would harm our relationship with You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Bind Us

The pain is so intense
beyond what we’ve felt before

we begin to go numb
not able to pray any more

we want to escape this
but just can’t find the door

Oh Jesus, come bind our hearts with Yours
show us how to walk this patch of floor.

Forbidden

“Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.” Acts 16:6

I usually hear about the Spirit’s leading.

Lord, please help me know the difference between the Spirit’s constraining me and the enemy’s discouraging me. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Stop and Go

The same Holy Spirit
that leads and guides
according to
His plan
also constrains us
by the knowledge
of the Great
I am.

You did WHAT?

“And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him,
saying, ‘You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!'” Acts 11:2-3

Some things that are wrong for me to do, are not necessarily wrong for someone else to do.

Lord, thank You for reminding me not to hold others to the same standards You hold me to. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Personal Precepts

You write Your word
upon our hearts

so we know
what to do

to love our God
and each other

to listen
and obey You.

Let Them Alone

“And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing;
but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it – lest you even be found to fight against God.” Acts 5:38-39

I’ve had some plans come to nothing. I’m so glad.

Lord, how exciting it is that Your work and plans cannot be overthrown. And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Difference

I wonder if
the plans I have

are from God
or just my own.

My own plans
will fade away

God’s can’t be
overthrown.
