Reward

 

We are not waiting
for nothing

for only more pain
and emptiness

for we have a God
who loves us

who always keeps
His promises.

Come Down

 

I need You, Jesus
I need You, Lord
my heart is broken
my world is torn

You say look no further
I have come
your mountains will tremble
and be undone.

You establish Your presence in my life.

“Oh, that You would rend the heavens! That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence. Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him.” Isaiah 64:1,4 NKJV

Gracious

 

Blessed are you
as you wait on Me

walking in My
mercy

for I listen to
your every cry

and answer you
graciously.

Jesus establishes my waiting.

“Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when He hears it, He will answer you.” Isaiah 30:18,19 NKJV

Wait Silently

 waiting on
car’s bumper
not like the others

Rare to find something alive on the front of the car.

“My soul wait silently for God alone. He is my defense; I shall not be moved. Power belongs to God. Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy.”  Psalm 62:5,6,11,12  NKJV

Power
belongs to Me
and mercy
is also Mine

that you might wait
and not be moved
from
My time line.

Awake

“I lie awake,
And am like a sparrow alone on the
housetop.”  Psalm 102:7

God knows about each sparrow.

Lord, please help me not to be discouraged when I must wait to hear from You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Yearning

Laying  awake at night
wanting to hear
Your voice
to feel Your presence

and if I don’t it doesn’t mean
that Your not near
just that I need to trust
and in faith persevere.

Real Strength

“O You his Strength, I will wait for You.”  Psalms 59:9

I tend to think I’m stronger than I really am.

Lord, please teach me how to rely on Your strength and not my own.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Wait and See

for all my hope
is in Jesus

in Who He is

Watching

When someone has told us they will give us a ride, we watch and wait for them to come.

Lord Jesus, thank You for promising to come again and pick us up for the ride of our lives.  May our excitement as we watch for You draw many others to start looking too.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

greatly anticipating
knowing what we see now
is not all there is.

For there will be a day
when all this passes away
and we’ll live together forever
as His.
