Psalm 47 Selah

 

I clap and shout
and sing

for You are awesome
in all Your ways

my Lord Most High
King of all the earth

help me understand more
Whom I praise.

I can pause and praise You with understanding, for You are with me.

Shining With Brightness

 

Those whose names are written
shall be delivered

shining with brightness
a heavenly glow

purified, made white
refined with understanding

the wisdom of making
His glory known.

You establish a refining understanding.

“And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book. Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. Many shall be purified, made white, and refined but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.” Daniel 12:1,3,10 NKJV

Deep And Secret Things

 

We praise and thank You
Mighty God

Revealer of deep
and secret things

blessing Your name
forever

as You give wisdom
and understanding.

You establish when and how secrets are revealed.

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:20,21,22 NKJV

Not a god

 

I am
a simple woman
and You are
my God

full of love
and understanding
merciful
to all

I am not
a god
but know the One
who is

the Lifter
of my heart
that keeps trust
with His.

You establish Yourself as God.

“Because your heart is lifted up, and you say, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the midst of the seas, ‘ yet you are a man, and not a god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god. . . “. Ezekiel 28:2 NKJV

Remember

 

During
your darkest moments

you’ll remember
My words

and I’ll reveal
the meaning of

exactly what
you’ve heard.

You establish the meaning of Your word to me.

” ‘Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee. . .’ And they remembered His words. And He opened their understanding that they might comprehend the Scriptures.” Luke 24:6,8,45 NKJV

To Know Me

 

I will give you wisdom
to know Me

and a heart
to understand

what is evil
what is good

blessings
from My hand.

You establish my understanding of how to do good.

“For My people are foolish, they have not known Me. They are silly children, and they have no understanding . They are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.” Jeremiah 4:22 NKJV

Grief and Sorrow

 

Do not seek wisdom
just to be wise
or knowledge
to be smart

but let Me guide you
in all these things
adding understanding
to your heart.

A laid down life is not lived in vain

“For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.” Ecclesiates 1:18 NKJV

With God

 

I am
the Lord your God
the great
I AM

no wisdom
or counsel against Me
will ever be able
to stand.

A laid down life stands with God.

“There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the LORD.” Proverbs 21:30 NKJV

Build Your House

 

Blessed are you
as you build your home
with love
and understanding

for your family always
finds peace there
and shelter from
the world’s clamoring.

A laid down life makes their house a home.

“Every wise woman builds her house , but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” Proverbs 14:1 NKJV

Ask

 

 

We all
can have wisdom
if we would
but ask

humbling ourselves
to realize
it’s something that
we lack.

A laid down life turns to God again and again and again.

“Wisdom . . . cries out from the highest places of the city, ‘whoever is simple, let him turn in here!’ As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him, ‘Forsake foolishness and live, and go in the way of understanding.’ Fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:1,3,4,6 NKJV
