“When He came in, He said to them, ‘Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.’ ”  Mark 5:39 NKJV

“And they laughed Him to scorn. But when He had put them all out, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying.”  Mark 5:40 NKJV

It isn’t always easy to step away from the emotional tumult and listen to Jesus.

Thank You, Lord, for being the peace and truth we need in the midst of emotional storms.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

You call me out from
the pull of my emotions

to separate me unto
the life of Your truth

not to make me
uncaring or unfeeling

but to grow my love
and trust of You.

God bless you as He meets your emotional needs today!

You Still The Noise

“You who still the noise of the seas,
The noise of their waves,
and the tumult of the peoples.”  Psalms 65:7

The definition of tumult is : 1.) noisy commotion; uproar 2.) confusion; agitation.

Lord, thank You for always knowing how to quiet me.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

When the sound of my own thoughts
which aren’t about You

drown out what I really
want to hear and do

You calm those rogue waves
that crash against my soul

and in the way only You can
You quiet me so.
