Build

Do not build your house
apart from Me
for your labor will be
in vain

but let whatever you do
be of My will
and to the glory of
My name.

A laid down life builds with God.

“Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.” Psalm 127:1,2 NKJV

Great Things

I will fill your mouths
with laughter
so that the
people say

surely the LORD
has done great things
for you reap in joy
today.

A laid down life is brought back rejoicing.

“When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, the LORD has done great things for them. Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seeds for sewing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:1,2,5,6 NKJV

Escape

When you are feeling
overwhelmed
and about to be
swallowed up

remember to call
upon My name
for nothing can
separate us.

A laid down life has a sure escape.

“If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, then they would have swallowed us alive, then the waters would have overwhelmed us. Blessed be the LORD. Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowler; the snare is broken, and we have escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 124:1,3,4,6,7,8 NKJV

Kept

I am your Keeper
who does not sleep
who preserves your soul
from evil schemes

who provides all
the shade you’ll need
and draws your eyes
to look at Me.

A laid down life is kept by the Lord.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.” Psalm 121:1,2,3,5,7 NKJV

My Word

I will hide
My word in your heart
causing it
to grow

that it can be
a light as you walk
showing you where
to go.

A laid down life has God’s Word for a light and a lamp.

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, for You shall enlarge my heart. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. “. Psalm 119:11,32,105 NKJV

Enduring

Give thanks to Me
for I am good
and My mercy
endures forever

trusting in Me
your Strength and Song
more than you do
each other.

A laid down life has an enduring Mercy.

“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! Because His mercy endures forever. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. The LORD is my strength and song , and He has become my salvation.” Psalm 118:1,8,14 NKJV

Saving Truth

I came first
to Israel
but then
to Gentiles too

so that everyone
everywhere
could know
My saving truth.

A laid down life is showered with merciful kindness.

“Oh, praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!” Psalm 117:1-2 NKJV

God’s Ear

In your day
of trouble
call to Me
and I will hear

your voice
and supplication
I’m with you
always near.

A laid down life has God’s ear.

“I love the LORD,  because He has heard my voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1-2 NKJV

Your Shield

You cannot trust
in idols
they do not see
or hear

trust only in
your King of Glory
your true help
and shield.

A laid down life has a trustworthy help and shield.

“Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but to Your name give glory. Because of Your mercy, because of Your truth. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. Eyes they have, but they do not see; they have ears, but they do not hear. You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield.” Psalm 115:1,4,5,11. NKJV

His Presence

Just as
the sea fled
and Jordan
turned back

the power
of My Presence
is still real
and intact.

A laid down life is God’s sanctuary.

“When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange languages, Judah became His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion . The sea saw it and fled; Jordan turned back. Tremble , O earth, at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the God of Jacob.” Psalm 114:1,2,3,7 NKJV
