Appointed To This

 

May we be established
encouraged in our faith

and not so
easily shaken

by the afflictions
taking place

tribulations yet
to happen.

You are with me and establish my faith.

“that no one should be shaken by these afflictions; for you yourself know that we are appointed to this.”

“For, in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know.”

Be Of Good Cheer

 

So thankful I
can come to You
and always have
Your peace

for the tribulations
of this world
seek to take it
from me

but You tell me
“be of good cheer”
for You have
overcome

and all that is
will one day bow
so undone by
the Son.

You establish where I find peace.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV

With Joy

“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”  Acts 20:24 NKJV

The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Thank You, Lord, for giving us the strength to finish the race with joy.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Trials, troubles
and tribulations
lie ahead
for each of us

but can never
remove the joy
of testifying
unto Jesus.
