Stone Roller

“And they said among themselves, ‘Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?'” Mark 16:3

The women just wanted to get to Jesus.

Thank You, Lord, for clearing a way for us to come to You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Oh Lord
please roll away
whatever it
may be

that ever keeps me
from believing
You are always here
with me.

God bless you as you come to Him today.

Idle Tales?

“Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.
But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen clothes lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.” Luke 24:9,11,12

The apostles had a hard time accepting the report the women gave. But, I love how Peter stooped down to take a closer look.

Oh Jesus, as we share the Good News that You are risen, we thank You for the evidence of Yourself You leave in each person’s life. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Looking Inside Our Tombs

The gospel sounds like a story
a children’s fairy tale
something that is made up
another crutch for sale
until you stop and take the time
to look inside your tomb
and find the evidence Jesus leaves
to convince and draw you.

Stone Rolling

“And they said among themselves, ‘Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?’ ” Mark 16:3

I have huge stones of yet unanswered prayer in my life.

Thank You Lord, for rolling away the stone and sitting at the right hand of God so that nothing can ever separate us from You and Your love. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Unsealing Tombs

Yet unanswered prayer sits
like heavily sealed tombs
trying to block
my view of You
but You roll away
any doubt I feel
assuring me You have a plan
and a purpose that’s real.

Praying with everyone today who face stones that need rolled away.

*This is the last post from The Gospel of Mark. Time to head back to the Old Testament tomorrow and start The Fourth Book of Moses called Numbers. :)*

Who’s Listening?

“So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.” Matthew 27:66

The chief priests and Pharisees guarded Jesus’ dead body. They had heard and remembered His claims to rise again the third day, even though they didn’t believe Him.

Lord, help us find a way to share Your word with those who persecute us and disbelieve today . . .in case tomorrow they remember as You reveal Yourself to them. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Picked Up

His words fall
like stones
that are picked up
and thrown back
at us
but they are
picked up.
