In The Cross

Let it be in Your cross
that I glory

into Your sacrifice
I lean

crucified to
the things of this world

let it be to You
I cling.

You are with me so I can die to the world.

“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

Galatians 6:14. NKJV

This World Is Passing Away

“But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none,
those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess,
and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.” 1 Corinthians 7:29-31

I am more attached to the world than I know myself to be.

Lord, I desire to learn the difference between worldly cares and caring about the world. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Fading

The world that I see
keeps passing away
fading more and more
into the gray
so my hope and life
can’t be anchored here
for this temporary place
one day will disappear.

Entering Into Life

“Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life.'”  Matthew 19:16
“So He said to him, “‘ . . .if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.'”  Matthew 19:17
“The young man said to Him, ‘All these things I have kept from my youth.  What do I still lack?'”  Matthew 19:21
“Jesus said to him, ‘. . .come, follow Me.'”  Matthew 19:21

Although not rich like the young ruler that came to Jesus, I knew I was lacking something.  And what I was living didn’t seem like life.

Thank You, Jesus, for being all I lack and filling me  with life. Here’s a simple poem . . .

In Order To Live

When we come
from the womb
we enter into
this world.
When we come
and follow Jesus
we enter into
life.
