Pleasing

I have entrusted you with
the gospel

so that you
can speak

not worried about
pleasing men

but only to
please Me.

**********

I can please You for You are with me.

**********

“But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel [that tells the good news of salvation through faith in Christ], so we speak, not as [if we were trying] to please people [to gain power and popularity], but to please God who examines our hearts [expecting our best].

1 Thessalonians 2:4 AMP

Faulted

I was faulted
for stirring up people

for teaching throughout
the land

now it’s your turn
to take the Gospel

to whomever whenever
you can.

You establish my mission.

“Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, ‘I find no fault in this Man.’ But they were the more fierce, saying, ‘He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place.’ ” Luke 23:4,5 NKJV

His Life and Ours

“So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.”  1 Thessalonians 2:8

I find it impossible to share the gospel without giving of my own self as well.

Lord, thank You for intertwining our lives with Yours, so that Your story is our glory and we are one.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Intertwined

source – realhomilies.wordpress.com

Each time we tell
the Gospel story
and make Jesus
name be known
how He gave up
His life to save us
we can’t help but
lay down our own.

Partaking

“I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” 1 Corinthians 9:22
“Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.” 1 Corinthians 9:23

When we baked apple pies for dad to take to a party, there was one with a small piece removed. My daughter couldn’t resist partaking of the goodies she’d share.

Lord, thank You for the privilege of not only getting to share Your gospel, but partake of it too! And here is a simple poem . . .

Relating

As we share the gospel
it infuses us

and we are overtaken
with the life of Jesus

and by His sacrifice
we identify

with each soul
for whom He’s crucified.
