Answering Each One

Walk in wisdom
continue in prayer

redeeming the time
with thanksgiving

letting your speech
be seasoned with salt

full of grace and mercy
for living.

You are with me as I speak.

“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving,”

“meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open for us a door for the word , to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, “

“that I might make it manifest, as I ought to speak.”

“Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.”

“Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”

Colossians 4: 2,3,4,5,6 NKJV

Put On Love

Wearing love
and thanksgiving

in My name
do everything

with My peace
ruling in your hearts

My word lives in you
and sings.

You are with me and make my life sing.

“But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.”

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body and be thankful.”

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Colossians 3:14,15,16,17 NKJV

When I am thankful
truly thankful

oh how I abound
in faith

being rooted
and built up

walking in Him
by grace.

My faith abounds for You are with me.

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him”

“rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”

Colossians 2:6,7 NKJV

We have an abundance
for every good work

as You make all grace

supplying seed to sow
and bread for food

thanksgiving on our lips
is found.

I am supplied for You are with me.

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work.”

“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”

2 Corinthians 9:8,10 NKJV

I Will Heal You

Though you’ve been

I will yet

healing all
of your wounds

growing you into

You establish my thanksgiving.

” ‘For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, ‘ says the LORD. ‘Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of those who make merry; I will multiply them and they shall not diminish; I will also glorify them and they shall not be small.’ ” Jeremiah 30:17,19 NKJV

Life’s Melody

My righteousness
endures forever

and My
salvation too

changing your deserts
into gardens

bringing forth glad
singing from you.

My life melody is established by You!

“But My salvation will be forever, and My righteousness will not be abolished. For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of melody. ” Isaiah 51:6,3 NKJV

Praying From the Fish’s Belly

“Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly.”  Jonah 2:1

“And he said:
I cried out to the Lord  because of my affliction
And He answered me.
Out of the belly of Sheol I cried,
And you heard my voice.”  Jonah 2:2

Though in a fish’s belly, Jonah recognized he’d been saved.

Thank You, God, for hearing my voice and saving me out of the belly of Sheol.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Even if I’m downcast
and afflicted
with waves and billows
rolling over me

let me remember how great
is my Salvation
how You swallowed up sin
at Calvary.

God bless you as you cry out to Him today!

Glorifying God

“Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.
Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.”  Psalms 50:14-15

Whoever offers praise, glorifies Me;
and to him who orders his conduct aright
I will show the salvation of God.”  Psalms 50:23

If I want my life to glorify God, I need to praise Him.

Lord, we love You and are so grateful that something as simple as thanking You, glorifies You too.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Praising Way                                              images

May I offer thanksgiving
all the day through

singing praises
to the One and only You

so my life brings You glory
like I want it to

and Your salvation is seen
making  more hearts new.

“Moreover the Levites were Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah who led the thanksgiving psalms, he and his brethren.”  Nehemiah 12:8

“Also Bakbukiah and Unni, their brethren, stood across from them in their duties.”  Nehemiah 12:9

That sounds like a wonderful work environment.

Oh Lord, we give thanks and rejoice today at all that is being done through You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Thankful Work

We sing out thanks
and praise to the Lord

at the ministry
of His Holy Word

as hands and hearts
continue in faith

the work of God
adorned with grace.
