The Stones

No matter what
others say

you can’t hold
it in

but must praise Me
joyfully

before the rocks
begin.

You establish my praise of You.

“But He answered and said to them, ‘I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.’ “. Luke 19:40 NKJV

Large, Costly and Hewn

“And the king commanded them to quarry large stones, costly stones, and hewn stones, to lay the foundation of the temple.”  1 Kings 5:17

Our foundation was lain with the most costly Stone of all.

Thank You, Jesus, for being our precious Cornerstone.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Our Sure Foundation

Solomon planned so carefully
the temple he would build

David’s desire for the Lord’s house
his son would fulfill

just as God’s own Son
builds His temple now in us

the perfectly hewn and established
foundation of  Christ Jesus.

Written Very Plainly

“And you shall write very plainly on the stones all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 27:8

God didn’t go for fine print or obscure text.

Father, thank You for writing Your law of love so plainly on our hearts through Jesus Christ Your Son. And here’s a simple poem . . .

All The Word

The law and the prophets were written
and Jesus fulfilled them all

like the handwriting appearing
upon the proverbial wall

God didn’t keep the Word hidden
but sent Him throughout the land

traveling in all the region
still seen in the hearts of man.

Bread From Stones

“And the devil said to Him, ‘If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread’.” Luke 4:3
“But Jesus answered him, saying, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God”.’ ” Luke 4:4 (Duet. 8:3)

Did satan know or chose to ignore that he spoke to the Cornerstone who had been commanded from ages past to be the Bread of Life?

Thank You, Jesus, for showing us what we truly need to stay alive is You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Holy Wheat

This Rock is
life’s bread broken
food enough
for everyone.
Could satan hear
those stones cry out
praises to
the Holy One?

Who’s Listening?

“So they went and made the tomb secure, sealing the stone and setting the guard.” Matthew 27:66

The chief priests and Pharisees guarded Jesus’ dead body. They had heard and remembered His claims to rise again the third day, even though they didn’t believe Him.

Lord, help us find a way to share Your word with those who persecute us and disbelieve today . . .in case tomorrow they remember as You reveal Yourself to them. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Picked Up

His words fall
like stones
that are picked up
and thrown back
at us
but they are
picked up.
