Widely Known

The shepherds didn’t
stay in their fields

when they heard
the news

but went to find
the Baby

and tell others
what they knew.

Shepherds

I will send shepherds
to feed you

and you shall not be
dismayed

nor shall you be
fearful or lacking

the rest of
your days.

You establish my pastoral care.

” ‘ I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking, ‘ says the LORD. “

Return

Return to Me
for I am merciful

it is never ever
too late

and I will handpick shepherds
to care for you

according to My love
which is great.

You establish the way of repentance for me.

“‘Return, backsliding Israel,’ says the LORD, ‘I will not cause My anger to fall on you, for I am merciful,’ says the LORD. ‘And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.’ ” Jeremiah 3:12,15 NKJV

Widely Known

The shepherds hurried
to see the Child
and found Him
as the angels told

then made widely known
all that they knew
glorifying God
that it was so.

A laid down life plays a part in God’s story.

“And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph and the Babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.” Luke 2:16,17,20 NKJV

Good News

To faithful shepherds
tending their flocks
the angel did
appear

telling them of
the Good News
sweet music to
their ears.

A laid down life is told good news.

“Then the Angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.’ So it was, when the Angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” Luke 2:10,11,15 NKJV

Glorifying and Praising

220px-Rumunia_5806

“Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.”  Luke 2:20 NKJV

There is so much to glorify and praise God for each day.

Thank You, Lord, for all You show us and tell us.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Let us return
glorifying and praising
for all
we’ve seen and heard

as we each
spend time with Him
living out
His word.

God bless you as you glorify and praise Him today!

Blessed Be The Lord

“. . . Those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be the LORD, for I am rich,’ and their shepherds do not pity them.”  Zechariah 11:5 NKJV

Chapter 11 was a tough one for me.

Thank You, Lord, for being our Good Shepherd.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Blessed be the Lord

for He is rich

in mercy

and in grace

and may I use

all I have

to bring glory

to His name.

God bless you as you lovingly care for those He calls you to.

Excited About Jesus

“Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.” Luke 2:20

I love how the shepherds didn’t hesitate to share their excitement and wonder at what they had heard and seen.

Oh Jesus, help us share the excitement of You birthing new joy in us daily. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Help us to share
the new joy that is birthed
