Sounding Forth

 

The word of the Lord
rings clear from us

our faith goes
everywhere

as we turn to Him
from idols

serving God with love
and prayer.

Your word sounds forth from me for You are with me.

“For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, inot only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.”

“For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God . . .”

1 Thessalonians 1:8,9. NKJV

Washing Feet

 

You laid aside
Your garments

and washed
the discipline’s feet

for being Lord
and Savior

did not keep You
from serving.

You establish what serving looks like.

“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.” John 13:14,15 NKJV

Distracting?

 

Serving isn’t
a distraction

a worrisome thing
to do

but springs forth
from devotion

and My time
spent with you.

You establish my serving through devotion.

“But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, ‘Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.’ And Jesus answered and said to her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things’ “. Luke 10:40,41 NKJV

Serving

 

Don’t worry
if you’re serving

and not
being served

for that is how
I came to you

and it is of
great worth.

My ability to serve others is established by You.

“You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25,26,27,28 NKJV

Made By God

 

 

Your thankfulness
swings wide My gates
your praises fill
My courts

the way you gladly serve
so blesses Me
it’s what you were
made for.

A laid down life is made thankful by God.

“Serve the LORD with gladness. Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who made us and not we ourselves. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.” Psalm 100:2,3,4 NKJV

God Knows

“And you know that with all my might I have served your father.”  Genesis 31:6  NKJV
“Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me.”  Genesis 31:7 NKJV

It is possible for us to be wronged, but not hurt by it.

Thank You, Lord, for covering us and keeping us from the harm that is intended.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

You see
our afflictions

and know
what’s being done

and will work
it for our good

and not
for our harm.

God bless you as He keeps afflictions from hurting you today.

Serving Alone

“Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone?  Therefore tell her to help me.”  Luke 10:40 NKJV

I love to serve, but when I’m stressed out it doesn’t come across that way.

Thank You, Lord, for Your peace that passes understanding when we are serving alone.

One thing is
needed
and that is
My peace

as you
love and
serve others
joyfully.

His Servants

“And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him.”  Revelation 22:3 NKJV

“They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.”  Revelation 22:4 NKJV

God makes being a servant such a good thing.

All His Heart

“And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, in the law and the commandment, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart.  So he prospered.”  2 Chronicles 31:21

All of my heart would equal a whole heart.  And a whole heart can only exist when He’s made it that way.

Lord, I’ll serve You with all my heart today, trusting You to keep healing me so I can serve You with even more of my heart tomorrow.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

There Was Joy

“Moreover those who were near to them, from as far away as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing food on donkeys and camels, on mules and oxen – provisions of flour and cakes of figs and cakes of raisins, wine and oil and oxen and sheep abundantly, for there was joy in Israel.”  1 Chronicles 12:40

I love that there was joy in Israel.
