Service Scheduled

“This was the schedule of their service for coming into the house of the LORD according to their ordinance by the hand of Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.”  1 Chronicles 24:19

My daughter finds comfort in schedules and routines.

Lord, we desire to keep ourselves on a continual schedule of serving and loving You.   And here’s a simple poem . . .

Serving Comfort

And so service began
with Aaron and sons

and trickled on down
to lesser known ones

a schedule of who
and when and what

and the comfort of keeping
God central in thought.

Carts, Oxen and Shoulders

“So Moses took the carts and the oxen and gave them to the Levites.” Numbers 7:6
“But to the sons of Kohath he gave none because theirs was the service of the holy things, which they carried on their shoulders.” Numbers 7:9

Some were asked to carry heavy articles that required oxen and carts. Others would simply use the shoulders God had given them.

Thank You, Lord, for supplying me with what I need to serve You today. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Our Supplier

I come
before You
with nothing
to serve.
You supply me
with new life,
able hands
and words.

How has God supplied you for service today?
