Holy To Me

You are
holy to Me

because I
am holy

and I have separated
you

to be Mine
in all you do.

*********

Lord, thank You for separating me and making me Yours.

“And you shall be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy and have separated you from the people’s, that you should be Mine.”

Leviticus 20:26. NKJV

Apart From God

“Then immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, and was dreadfully afraid. . .”  1 Samuel 28:20

There was nothing more Saul could do.

Oh Lord, thank You that through Jesus Christ we don’t have to stay in the painful place of being separated from You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Jesus Connection

Saul fell face down
and couldn’t rise
God was no longer
at his side

but God sent His Son
so we can forever be
forgiven, connected
purified and holy.

Is It A Small Thing

Moses: “Is it a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to Himself . . .” Numbers 16:9

Sons of Eliab: “Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you should keep acting like a prince over us?” Numbers 16:13

I read the above exchange and my hand flies to my mouth. Oh no, they didn’t really say that to Moses! But, oh yes, they did.

Oh Lord, teach me how small my circumstances are and how huge is the fact that You’ve brought me near to Yourself through the blood of Jesus. And here’s a simple poem . . .

No Small Thing

Is it a small thing
that You died for me,
can I easily ignore
Your cross on Calvary?
Or do I fall to the floor
each time I see
how much Your blood
has salvaged me?

That God has brought me into such a beautiful blogging community is no small thing to me either. Thank you and God bless you!

Separated

“Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them.” Leviticus 15:31

We have an older house, with older appliances and fixtures and furniture. Try as I might, I can’t make everything look clean and new anymore.

Father, we thank and praise You for sending us Your only Son, Jesus Christ, to separate us from our uncleanness, our sin, this day. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Cling Free

Egg yolks separate
from their whites
– and oil sits atop
– water all right
but my uncleanness
can cling to me
– until I come to Jesus
– and see it nailed to His tree.
