Arise

 

 

Let me arise
seeking Your presence

and not simply
to flee

listening
to what You say

for it is life
to me.

In Spirit And Truth

 

Oh Lord, teach me
to worship You

in spirit and
in truth

for that is what
You’re seeking

so what I long
to do.

You establish how to worship You.

“But the hour is coming and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.” John 4:23 NKJV

Who Am I?

 

It is good
that others know Me

that they can tell you
who I am

but I want you
to seek me out

for yourself
first hand.

You establish who You are to me.

” ‘Who do men say that I am?’ And they answered, ‘John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ And Peter answered and said to Him, ‘You are the Christ.’ “. Mark 8:27,28,29 NKJV

Unforgettable

 

You come to Me
seeking and weeping

at such a time
and on this day

joined to Me
in a perpetual covenant

that’s unforgettable
forever and always.

You establish a perpetual covenant with me.

” ‘In those days and in that time,’ says the LORD, ‘the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, ; with continual weeping they shall come, and seek the LORD their God. They shall ask the way to Zion, with their faces toward it, saying, “Come and let us join ourselves together with the LORD in a perpetual covenant that will not be forgotten.” ‘ ” Jeremiah 50:4,5 NKJV

Seek Me

 

Do not seek
just for yourself

but seek
after Me

and your life
shall be a prize

for everyone
to see.

You establish my seeking.

” ‘Do you seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them; for behold, I will bring adversity on all flesh,’ says the LORD. ‘But I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go.’ ” Jeremiah 45:5 NKJV

Slightly

 

Do not settle
for something slight

for an airy
false word

but seek Me
with all your heart

until My voice
is heard.

You establish what is true and what is false to me.

“Everyone deals falsely. For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace .” Jeremiah 8:10,11 NKJV

Great Joy

 

Following the star
with exceeding joy
the wise men
came from the east

finding the Child
of whom they’d heard
such great and
glorious things.

A laid down life seeks and finds Him.

“When they saw the star they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him.” Matthew 2:10,11 NKJV

Satisfied

plant put outside
now back inside
still not satisfied

“O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water. ”  Psalm 63:1 NKJV

“Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.”  Psalm 63:3 NKJV

“My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness . . .”  Psalm 63:5 NKJV

Let your soul
thirst for Me
and your flesh
too

for My lovingkindness
is better than life –
only I
can satisfy you.

Finding Him

“And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, ‘Go and search diligently for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”  Matthew 2:8

Of course, Herod had no intention of worshiping Jesus.

Thank You, Lord, for making Yourself found to all those who are truly searching.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I can’t send
someone in my place
no one else can worship
You for me

but if I seek You
with all my heart
I will find You and
Your mercy.

Inquiring of Him

“I will cut off every trace of Baal from this place  . . .” Zephaniah 1:4 NKJV

“. . .Those who have turned back from following the Lord,
And have not sought the Lord, nor inquired of Him.”  Zephaniah 1:6 NKJV

God doesn’t get annoyed that we need Him.

Thank You, Lord, for desiring that we seek You all the time.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Turn to Me
and seek Me

all day long
and through the night

you can’t inquire
of Me too often

you are My child
in whom I delight.
