Seeking Glory

“He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.”  John 7:18

Jesus always seeks the glory of God.

Thank You, Lord, for being our truth and righteousness.  And  here’s a simple poem . . .

Let all I say
and do

seek and glorify

the One sent
from God

fully righteous
all truth and love.

God bless you as you seek His glory today!

“O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
where there is no water.”  Psalms 63:1

Jesus is our living water.

Lord, may I cry out for You more than for what I perceive my need to be.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Poured out for
and onto and into

what was once dried up
is now alive

for when You are
what we thirst for

even in our deserts
we will thrive.

God Looks Down

“God looks down from heaven upon
the children of men,
To see if there are any who
understand, who seek God.”  Psalms 53:2

God looked down and then He came down.

Lord, thank You for loving us more than we will ever fully know.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

God Came Down                                                                                images

You looked and came down
to the children of men

as a baby, as flesh
as a God-man

with mercy and compassion
You understood

we’d need You with us
to know holy and good.

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas! I’m so thankful for all you do!  I don’t think I’ll be able to be on the computer for awhile, so will look forward to reading your wonderful posts after Christmas. God bless you and yours!

Searching and Seeking

“The Lord looks down from heaven
Upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who
understand, who seek God.”  Psalm 14:2

There were an average of 4,717,000,000 searches made on Google per day in 2011.

Lord, may we understand more and more, the importance of seeking you. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Better Than Google

Each day I look
for many things
and most of them
I find

but nothing’s as great
as seeking God
for He’s what I need
all the time.

“If you would earnestly seek God
And make your supplications to the Almighty,
If you were pure and upright,
surely now He would awake for you . . .”   Job 8:5-6

Praying to be careful with any comments to me and from me,  that contain “if you were _____, surely now He would _______.”

Lord, we thank You that our relationship with You isn’t based upon our purity or uprightness, but on Yours.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Depending on Him

source –

As we keep earnestly seeking
and as we pray

may we know You will answer
be it in years or days

and it will not depend
on our own uprightness

but on the faithfulness
of Your pure promises.

“Let it be known to the king that we went into the province of Judah, to the temple of the great God, which is being built with heavy stones and timber is being laid in the walls, and this work goes on diligently and prospers in their hands.”  Ezra 5:8

Employers like to see their workers keeping busy.

Lord, may we be found diligently seeking and serving You!  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Found Out

If someone visited me today
and checked upon my heart

I pray they’d find it diligently
seeking You, Lord

building upon Your promises
faithfully following through

all that You had asked
and trusted me to do.

Will Your God Deliver You?

“Now therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or persuade you like this, and do not believe him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people from my hand or the hand of my fathers.  How much less will your God deliver you from my hand?”  2 Chronicles 32:15

In Hezekiah’s day, it wasn’t uncommon for a king who sought God to call for his entire nation to fast and pray.

Lord, we cry out to You , for we know only You can intervene in our lives.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Deliver Us

Oh Lord, make us a bowed down people
humbled under Your hand

source – micahklutinoty.blogspot.comhumbled under Your hand

make us a bowed down people
who in Your presence cannot stand

laid out by Your Glory
lips hushed while You speak

to our hearts crying out for mercy
for all to repent and seek.

When He Gives Rest

“Therefore he said to Judah, ‘Let us build these cities and make walls around them, and towers, gates and bars while the land is yet before us, because we have sought the LORD our God; we have sought Him and He has given us rest on every side.’  So they built and prospered.”  2 Chronicles 14:7

God’s rest meant Asa could build and prosper.

Lord, help me understand what You want me to do in the rest You give today. And here’s a simple poem . . .

A Seeking Rest

We may not all get
a physical vacation

we many not all be able
to have down time today

but we can relax
in what we’re doing

finding rest in seeking
Him always.

All The Earth Seeks Him

“And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.”  1 Kings 10:24

All the earth seeks the presence of God, though they may not realize it.

Lord, how we long to be in Your Presence and hear Your wisdom and truth this day.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Just Because

I want to stay in Your Presence
and never ever leave
just because You are You
and You are what I need.

No problem matters any more
all trouble has to flee
any fractures that have begun
are mended by Your Peace.
