Loosed And Led Away

“Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?”  Luke 13:15 NKJV

“So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound – think of it – for eighteen years , be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?”  Luke 13:16 NKJV

Sometimes we need help getting out of our stalls.

Thank You, Lord, for loosing us and leading us away to Yourself, our Living Water.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Bound for twenty-
seven years

to drugs, alcohol
lies and fears

until I was loosed
and led away

to glorify God
the rest of my days.

God bless you as you are led away by Him today!

Soft Hearts

_MG_2798

“And He said to them, ‘Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?’  But they kept silent.”  Mark 3:4 NKJV

Matthew 3:5 tells us Jesus was grieved by their silence, by the hardness of their hearts.

Thank You, Lord, for softening my heart as I surrender it to You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Is it lawful to do good or evil
to save life or to kill?

The answer seems so obvious
but You ask me still

because my heart can harden
and my love become nil

oh keep me forever softened
to Your mercy and Your will.

God bless you as you stay soft toward Him today!

Lawful To Do Good

“Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”  Matthew 12:12 NKJV

“Then He said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’  And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other.”  Matthew 12:13 NKJV

“Then the Pharisees went out and took counsel against Him, how they might destroy Him.”  Matthew 12:14 NKJV

“But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there; and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.”  Matthew 12:15  NKJV

Jesus withdrew from that area, but not from healing on the Sabbath.

Thank You, Jesus, for being Lord of the Sabbath and Healer of all.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Lord, if I do good
in Your name
and am hated
for it

please give me wisdom
to continue
and not withdraw
from it.

God bless you as you continue in His name.

In Addition To

“. . .this is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, besides the regular burnt offering with its drink offering.” Numbers 28:10

There were daily offerings given, but also so much more.

Oh Lord, may I never seek to limit myself to a standard daily requirement where You are concerned. And here’s a simple poem . . .

A Limitless Offer

May my time with You
extend throughout the day
a holy offering, a sacrifice
to Your glory and praise.

Looking To Accuse

“And they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.” Mark 3:2

How could the amazing truth that Jesus would restore this man’s withered hand completely escape their notice? How much do I miss when I get into critical mode?

Jesus, please stamp out any tendencies for me to be critical and judgmental so I can see You more. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Critical Constraints

When my eyes become narrowed
then soon it’s my mind
and my heart grows hardened,
my thoughts unkind
and it’s in this state
that I entirely miss
the wonder and healing
of being purely His.

Commanding His Blessing

“And if you say, ‘What shall we eat in the seventh year, since we shall not sow nor gather in our produce?’
Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years.” Leviticus 25:21-22

As God instructed the children of Israel about giving the land a sabbath rest every seventh year, He also had every intention of providing for them to be able to do as He commanded.

Thank You, Lord, that You never ask of us anything beyond what You have ready to provide. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Provision Made

The task seems impossible
how could He ask me to try
but I hear God’s voice
explaining to me why
I can do this
because He’s covered me
the salvation of His provision
being my forever guarantee.

Beauty for Ashes

He saved my feet from failing, and taught them how to dance.
