In The Day That He Turns

 

My own righteousness
won’t save me
it is as
filthy rags

a pretense
and a slippery slope
a huge
red flag

let me turn
as the wicked
unto what
is true

and so live
forever
by the righteousness
of You.

You establish Your righteousness.

“Therefore you, O son of man, say to the children of your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall because of it in the day that he turns from his wickedness . . . ‘ ” Ezekiel 33:12 NKJV

Happiness

 

Happy are you
when you do

what is just
and right

holding fast
My covenant

joined to Me
tight.

My happiness is established in You.

“Keep justice, and do righteousness, for My salvation is about to come and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this . . .who has joined himself to the LORD. Choose what pleases Me and hold fast My covenant.” Isaiah 56:1,2,3,4 NKJV

Be Established

 

With mercy I
will draw you close

kindness, peace
imbue

in righteousness
you will be found

shame and oppression
removed.

I am established by Your righteousness.

“My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has mercy on you. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear . . .” Isaiah 54:10,14 NKJV

Life’s Melody

 

My righteousness
endures forever

and My
salvation too

changing your deserts
into gardens

bringing forth glad
singing from you.

My life melody is established by You!

“But My salvation will be forever, and My righteousness will not be abolished. For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving and the voice of melody. ” Isaiah 51:6,3 NKJV

Not In Vain

 

In Me you shall
be justified

and in Me you
shall glory

for you were not
created in vain

but to live out My
salvation story.

My purpose is established in You.

“Rain down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness; let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation . . .Who is God, who formed the earth and made it, who established it, who did not create it in vain, who formed it to be inhabited; I am the LORD and there is no other. I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth; I did not say to the seed of Jacob, ‘Seek Me in vain’; I, the LORD, speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. In the LORD all the descendants of Israel shall be justified, and shall glory.” Isaiah 45:8,18,19,25 NKJV

Quiet Assurance

 

Righteousness
will work in you
to bring you
a sweet peace

an assurance and
a quietness
as you now dwell
in Me.

Jesus eatablishes my dwelling place.

“The work of righteousness will be peace, and the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever . My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings and in quiet resting places.” Isaiah 32:17,18 NKJV

Our Resting Place

 

I am the Rod
from the stem of Jesse

the One upon whom
the Spirit rests

full of wisdom
and understanding

I judge the poor
with righteousness.

Jesus establishes our glorious resting place.

“There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
His delight is in the fear of the LORD, and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears, but with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth . . .
And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting place shall be glorious.” Isaiah 11:1,2,3,4,10 NKJV

An Overflow

 

Even from this
destruction

righteousness
will overflow

and I will
take away

the heavy burden
and yoke you know.

Jesus establishes what manner of yoke and burden I bear.

“For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them will return; the destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness. It will come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” Isaiah 10:22,27 NKJV

True Judgements

 

I am coming
to judge the earth
in truth and
righteousness.

Blessed are you who
wait and watch
wearing your praise
garments.

Jesus establishes judgements.

“And I heard another from the altar saying, ‘Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgements.’ Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches , and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” Revelation 16:7,15 NKJV

Pathway

L

I will forgive
your iniquities
and cover all
your sin

My footsteps
shall be your pathway
to truth
again and again.

A laid down life walks in His footsteps.

“You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Truth shall spring out of the earth. Righteousness will go before Him and shall make His footsteps our pathway.” Psalm 85:2,11,13 NKJV
