When Responding

“When the Angel of the Lord appeared no more to Manoah and his wife, then Manoah knew that He was the Angel of the Lord.” Judges 13:21
“And Manoah said to his wife, ‘We shall surely die, for we have seen God’!” Judges 13:22
“Then his wife said to him, ‘If the Lord had desired to kill us, He would not have accepted a burnt offering and a grain offering from our hands, nor would He have shown us all these things, nor would He have told us such things as these at this time’.” Judges 13:23

One happening . . .two very different responses.

Lord, I desire to respond to people and situations according to the truth of Your word and who You are. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Let me stop and consider
what is happening
and put it through the filter
of Jesus my King
to see if what I know of Him
is from where my thoughts arise
to form my first reactions
based on truth instead of lies.

A Full House

“Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled’.” Luke 14:23

So glad He wants His house filled, as I brush off the highway dust and pull the leaves out of my hair.

Lord, please help us get the word out that heaven isn’t a place for just a special few. And here’s a simple poem . . .

He’s Waiting For You

The invitations have been sent out
He’s making last minute calls
wants everyone to be there
to pack the place, wall to wall.

So if you’ve received your invite
but have not responded yet
please get with the Giver of the Dinner
a place is set with your name on it.
