Watching

 

O Lord let me hear
what You are saying

when You speak through
circumstances and lives

giving me
so many examples

of what is wrong
and what is right.

I can understand prophetic messages for You are with me.

“And I took my staff, Beauty, and cut it in two, that I might break the covenant which I had made with all the peoples.”

Thus Says

 

If you say
“thus says the Lord”

be sure it’s Me
not you

that I have really
spoken

and then have asked
you to.

You establish true prophecy.

” ‘Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say, ‘The LORD says,’ but I have not spoken.’ ” Ezekiel 13:7 NKJV

A Way Out

 

Though destruction
be prophesied against you

it can yet
be changed

if you would
listen to Me

and do what
I say.

You establish a way out for me when I turn to You.

“Repent now everyone of his evil ways and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD has given to you and your fathers forever and ever.” Jeremiah 25:5 NKJV

Prophecy

 

Though they bowed
to mock and blaspheme

even this
was prophecy

for every tongue
will confess

and every knee
bend to Me.

You establish and fulfill prophecy for me.

“When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, ‘Hail, King of the Jews.’ ” Matthew 27:29 NKJV

Ordered Ordeals

“Let him alone, and let him curse; for so the Lord has ordered him.” 2 Samuel 16:11

David knew what he was going through was from God’s hand, as Nathan the prophet had foretold it.

Lord, thank You for reminding me often of the importance of listening to You, so I’m not surprised by what happens next.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

What You Said

I long to hear
Your voice

then after a bit
I forget

so may Your Holy Spirit
please remind me

when I’m in
the midst of it.

Undefiled

“Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not go into the Praetorium, lest they should be defiled, but that they might eat the Passover.” John 18:28

They were not defiled for taking the Lamb to be sacrificed.

Lord, I desire to embrace the role each one had in Your crucifixion . . .and how it had to be that way. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Embrace It All

How can I blame someone else
for You crucified

when it was the Father’s will
and already prophesied

better to embrace it all
as You did that day

choosing to die and save the world
You gave Your life away.
