Chosen

God has chosen
the poor of this world

to be rich
in faith

making them
heirs of the kingdom

loving Him and filled
with grace.

**********

Lord, I want to be rich in faith and not in the things of this world. Please help me see with impartial eyes.

**********

“Listen my beloved brethren : Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?” James 2:5. NKJV

Toward His Disciples

“Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples, and said;
Blessed are you poor . . .
Blessed are you who hunger now . . .
Blessed are you who weep now . . .
Blessed are you when men hate you  . . .”  Luke 6:20-22 NKJV

I forgot Jesus said these things to those closest to Him.

Thank You, Lord, for being our always hope ad assurance.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Blessed are you
My beloved

who seek
and follow Me

though hated
poor and weeping

My glory
you will see.

God bless you today , for yours is the Kingdom of God.

Out of Poverty

“So He said, ‘Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all;
for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty has put in all the livelihood that she had’.” Luke 21:3-4

Jesus sees us at our lowest points as precious vessels of His grace.

Thank You, Jesus, for always turning things upside down. Please help me pour out of those places in my life that I feel are bankrupt. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Jesus Sees

When you feel you can’t go on
but for others you somehow do

when you are brokenhearted but still love
because Jesus is loving you

when the bad news comes
and you’ve lost all happiness

yet rejoice and praise Him
Jesus sees you and is blessed.

The One Thing We Never Lack

“Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, ‘One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow me.'” Mark 10:21

You may know this scripture about the rich young ruler who came to Jesus asking what he needed to do to obtain eternal life. What I had overlooked was the part where Jesus looked at him . . .and loved him.

Thank You, Lord, that the one thing we never lack is Your love of us. And here is a simple poem . . .

The Love Motivator

There is always more to do
a higher level to achieve
so having Your love
is the one thing that bolsters me.
No matter where I’m at
in my ability to obey
Your unconditional love
leads me on each day.

The Art of Gleaning

“When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.
And you shall not glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather every grape of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and the stranger: I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 19:9-10

I don’t have fields or vineyards. Just a simple little blog.

Thank You Lord for the endless field of Your Word that You allow us to glean from. May I leave ample amounts of Your grace and love in the corners of these posts and among the rows of these words for others to come and find. And here’s a simple poem . . .

At The Edge

Standing always a little outside
the many fields of life
watching the labor, the love
the gathering in . . .
do they know what I glean
from the edges,
how much good they leave behind
for me?

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who allows me to glean from their blogs and lives! 🙂

His Beauty Meets Attitudes

“Blessed are . . .”  Matthew 5:3

Jesus goes on to say blessed are the poor, the mourning, the meek, the persecuted.  Obviously He sees things much differently than I.

Oh Jesus, please help me remember that there is more to what I see and understand.  Here’s a simple poem . . .

Blessed Ones

You sat upon the mountain
with the masses down below

and when You opened Your mouth
the beautitudes did flow

and we’re still taught
by every word You spoke.

No More, No Less

“The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the Lord, to make atonement for yourselves.”  Exodus 30:15

Whether we are millionaires or among the homeless, have lived a “good life” or are in prison, the cost of our atonement is all the same.  And it’s been prepaid by Jesus on the cross at Calvary.

Thank You, Lord, for paying the price for me.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Prepaid

I am so blessed, Lord
that You have died for me
but there are still others
who don’t know and can’t see
they don’t have to strive their whole life
in order to be free,
You have paid for us all
while nailed upon that tree.
