“And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or work is of men, it will come to nothing
but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it – lest you even be found to fight against God.”  Acts 5:38-39 NKJV

We have the advantage point of time to know this plan was and is of God.

Thank You, Lord, for never being overthrown.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Persecution
suffering
martyrdom
and more

they are fighting
against You, Lord
but can never
win this war.

God bless you as you do the work of God today!

What Ails You?

“What ails you, O sea, that you fled?
O Jordan, that you turned back?”  Psalm 114:5

Nothing will stop God from His plans and promises.

Oh Lord, let me not get bogged down by what I see.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Whole Earth Trembles

bible.ca

bible.ca

The Red Sea didn’t
block My people

nor did the Jordan keep them
from where they were to be

so do not think
what’s in front of you

is too big
for even Me.

Perish The Thought

“The desire of the wicked shall perish.”  Psalm 112:10

The goodness of God will last forever.

Lord, I want to think more about Your desires than those of the wicked.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Upon Me

graceofgod-christ.blogspot.com

graceofgod-christ.blogspot.com

Your desire
is upon me

and it will never
pass away

pure and holy
are Your plans

from everlasting
and day to day.

By His Hand Upon Me

“All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing, by His hand upon me, all the works of these plans.”  1 Chronicles 28:19

I don’t understand everything in His written Word.

Lord, I trust You to help me understand what You want me to each day.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

When I Need To Know

By Your Hand upon me
I will understand

all that You
desire me to

of what is written
what is planned.

Purposed To Defeat

“So Absalom and all the men of Israel said, ‘The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel’.  For the Lord had purposed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring disaster on Absalom.”  2 Samuel 17:14

Have you ever known someone was making plans that would affect you in a bad way?

Lord, we thank You for having the final say about what happens to us.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

When I Consider

Plans are made every day
and all of them aren’t good

like when we tried to kill You
as if we ever could

and I can worry about
what is being done

or consider the resurrection
glory of the Son.

God Strategy

“And the Lord said to David, ‘Go up, for I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into your hand’.”  2 Samuel 5:19
“And when David inquired of the Lord, He said, ‘You shall not go up; circle around behind them, and come upon them, in front of the mulberry trees’.”  2 Samuel 5:23
“So it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines’.”  2 Samuel 5:24

No matter what we’re facing, God has a plan.

Thank You, Lord, for knowing each of us individually and deeply and knowing exactly what is going on in our lives.  And here is a simple poem . . .

In the Works

Sometimes what you need
will be delivered into your hand

other times you’ll have to wait
and trust in My plan

for I won’t always do things
the same way each time

but know that I am working
out something good and divine.

Of The Lord

“Then his father and mother said to him, ‘Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?’ And Samson said to his father, ‘Get her for me, for she pleases me well’.” Judges 14:3
“But his father and mother did not know that it was of the Lord – that He was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines.” Judges 14:4

Most of us figure out sooner or later that we have very little control over anyone else’s choices and behavior.

Oh Lord, help us to trust You and what You’ve said when things don’t appear to be going according to plans. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Even Now

How we thought things would turn out
slips right through our hands

how could this possibly be going
according to His plan

but He is not unknowing
nor has He lost control

and soon He’ll be showing
how even this is of the Lord.

Let Them Alone

“And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing;
but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it – lest you even be found to fight against God.” Acts 5:38-39

I’ve had some plans come to nothing. I’m so glad.

Lord, how exciting it is that Your work and plans cannot be overthrown. And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Difference

I wonder if
the plans I have

are from God
or just my own.

My own plans
will fade away

God’s can’t be
overthrown.

He Will Gather

“If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you.” Deuteronomy 30:4

Modern day Israel is seeing this happen, as those of Jewish descent continue to make aliyah, returning to their promised home land. (The featured guest writer, J of Jerusalem, made aliyah 16 years ago from Alaska. How’s that for a “farthest parts”?)

Oh Lord, we thank You that even those who seem to be the furthest from You, You will gather and bring close. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Bringing You Back

There is no where you can go
where I won’t seek you

no place you can be driven
from which I won’t draw you back

to gather you with compassion
into the land I promised

for you to take possession
of all that you have lacked.

Our Chosen King

” . . .you shall surely set a king over you whom the Lord your God chooses, one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you. . .” Deuteronomy 17:15

God did not want just anyone ruling over His people.

Thank You, Father, for choosing the very best for us . . .Jesus Christ Your Son. And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Right Ruler

You chose for us a King
and lowly among us He came
though high and forever lifted
the whole earth praising His name.
He did not seek His own
personal growth and gain
but bore the word, the fear of God
a firm foundation, set and lain.
