Overcome Evil With Good

 

Lord, let me not be
overcome with evil

but overcome evil
with good

associating with
the humble

not thinking more of me
than I should.

Be Of Good Cheer

 

So thankful I
can come to You
and always have
Your peace

for the tribulations
of this world
seek to take it
from me

but You tell me
“be of good cheer”
for You have
overcome

and all that is
will one day bow
so undone by
the Son.

You establish where I find peace.

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 NKJV

My Called

 

War will be made
against Me

but I will
overcome

and those with Me
are My called

My faithful
chosen ones.

Jesus establishes my faithfulness.

“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful. “. Revelation 17:14 NKJV

Cast Down

 

The accuser is
overcome
by the blood
of the Lamb

and by the word of
our testimonies
this Rock on which
we stand.

Jesus establishes my testimony.

“Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, ‘Now salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren , who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony , and they did not love their lives to the death.’ ” Revelation 12:10,11 NKJV

Nurture

 

You come
into My garden
and before
you’re even aware

your love
has overcome Me
as you
nurture there.

A laid down life is lovely to God.

“Oh my love, you are as beautiful as Tirzah, lovely as Jerusalem, awesome as an army with banners! Turn your eyes away from me, for they have overcome me. I went down to the garden of nuts, to see the verdure of the valley, to see whatever the vine had budded and the pomegranates had bloomed. Before I was even aware, my soul has made me as the chariots of my noble people.” Song of Solomon 6:4,5,11,12 NKJV

Of Me

 

You are of Me
and have overcome
he who is in
the world

confessing that I
have come in the flesh
testifying I’m Savior
of this world.

A laid down life is loved by God.

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in ypu is greater than he who is in the world. By this you know the Soirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.” 1 John 2,4,14, 16 NKJV

Chosen and Faithful

“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called chosen, and faithful.”  Revelation 17:14 NKJV

I am thinking about God choosing me vs. just me choosing Him.

Thank You, God, for choosing and infusing us so that we may be called chosen and faithful.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Though they make
war against Me

they will be
overcome

and you shall be
with Me

chosen ones.

Breath of Life

“Now when they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them and kill them.”  Revelation 11:7 NKJV

“Now after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them.”  Revelation 11:10 NKJV

I’m reminded of the utter shock and devastation the apostles must have felt seeing Jesus nailed to a cross and placed in a tomb.

Thank You, Lord, for breathing life into what appears to have died.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

When it looks
the darkest
and prayer has seemed
to fail

that’s when God says
“Come close to Me
and watch how I
prevail.”
