This Is The Law

Offering
after offering

again
and again

until You died
once for all

covering
every sin.

**********

Lord, thank You for being our offering, once and for all.

**********

“Command Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the law of the burnt offering . . .’ “

“Now this is the law of the grain offering . . .”

“Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the law of the sin offering . . .’ “

Offerings

Speak to the children
and say to them

bring Me an offering
of what you have

and it will be found
acceptable

for atonement’s been made
on your behalf.

***********

Lord, thank you for being the ultimate perfect sacrifice for my sins. Please help me to daily give You all I am and have.

***********

“The LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the Tent of Meeting, saying,”

“Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘When any one of you brings an offering to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of [domestic] animals from the herd (cattle, oxen) or from the flock (sheep, goats).’ “

“He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering [transferring symbolically his guilt to the sacrifice], that it may be accepted for him to make atonement on his behalf. [Heb.13:15,16 ; 1Peter 1:2].

Try Me

Bring your tithes
and offerings

do not
be afraid

see what I
pour out on you

blessings
heaven made.

**********

I can bring You my tithes and offerings, for You are with me.

**********

” ‘Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be My house, and try Me now in this,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.’ “.

A Pure Offering

Bring to Me
your purest offerings

whatever you have
without blemish

for I am truly
your Great King

Who you can trust
with your very best.

**********

I can give You my very best, for You are with me.

**********

” ‘For from the rising of the sun, even to it’s going down, My name shall be great among the Gentiles; in every place incense shall be offered to My name, and a pure offering; for My name shall be great among the nations,’ says the LORD of hosts.”

” ‘ But cursed be the deceiver who has in his flock a make and takes a vow, but sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished – for I am a great King,’ says the LORD of hosts, and My name is to be feared among the nations.”

Our Great King

“. . . ‘For I am a great King,’
says the LORD of hosts,
‘and My name is to be feared among the nations.'”  Malachi 1:14 NKJV

What a privilege it is to love and honor God.

Thank You, Lord, for giving us opportunities to glorify You today.  And here is a simple poem . . .

He is our great King
our LORD of hosts

Whose name is awesome
among the nations

and we offer Him
our very best

praise and worship in
each situation.

God bless you as you honor and serve Him today!

A Thousand Burnt Offerings

“And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.”  2 Chronicles 1:6

Before Solomon ever asked for or received wisdom and knowledge and became the wealthiest of kings, he offered God a thousand burnt offerings.

Oh Lord, may we worship You extravagantly today, right in the place where we are.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Worship Through and Through

You give me new life
and cause me not to fear

bringing peace and assurance
that You  are very near

my heart wants to beat with
only worship through and through

thousands upon thousands of
“Oh how I love you’s”.

Out of Poverty

“So He said, ‘Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all;
for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty has put in all the livelihood that she had’.” Luke 21:3-4

Jesus sees us at our lowest points as precious vessels of His grace.

Thank You, Jesus, for always turning things upside down. Please help me pour out of those places in my life that I feel are bankrupt. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Jesus Sees

When you feel you can’t go on
but for others you somehow do

when you are brokenhearted but still love
because Jesus is loving you

when the bad news comes
and you’ve lost all happiness

yet rejoice and praise Him
Jesus sees you and is blessed.

Without Blemish

“You shall offer a burnt offering as a sweet aroma to the Lord; one young bull, one ram, and seven lambs in their first year, without blemish.” Numbers 29:2

I remember those years of blemishes and break outs. To be “without blemish”? Only a dream.

Thank You, Lord, for providing us the perfect Lamb, without blemish, so we can stand clear and free, the stigma of our sins cleansed away. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Only One Perfect Enough

Only One Lamb
for the sacrifice
only One Offering
to set me free
Only One Son
without blemish
would die in order
to save me.

In Addition To

“. . .this is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, besides the regular burnt offering with its drink offering.” Numbers 28:10

There were daily offerings given, but also so much more.

Oh Lord, may I never seek to limit myself to a standard daily requirement where You are concerned. And here’s a simple poem . . .

A Limitless Offer

May my time with You
extend throughout the day
a holy offering, a sacrifice
to Your glory and praise.

Wilderness Offerings

“This is the law of the burnt offerings, the grain offering, the sin offering, the trespass offering, the consecrations and the sacrifice of the peace offering which the Lord commanded Moses on Mount Sinai, on the day that He commanded the children of Israel, to offer their offerings to the Lord, in the Wilderness of Sinai.” Leviticus 7:37-38

Harsh wilderness times can make us want to pull back and hunker down.

Thank You, Jesus, for showing us to offer of ourselves now, here in the middle of our need. These are the kind of offerings that make eyes and hearts turn to You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Now’s Good

I scramble up from my
wilderness slouch, hearing

“Don’t wait until you reach
the promised land”

so I begin to offer
all that I can

get my hands
and heart around.
