Finding Favor

With each flood
of pain and trouble

you can come
to Me

and rise up
with My favor

born out of My

You establish Yourself as our ark of favor, so we rise up in the midst of pain and suffering.

“The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and He saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the LORD was sorry He had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke His heart. And the LORD said, ‘I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing – all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.’ But Noah found favor with the LORD. “

Genesis 6:5-8

Beginning To Be

cucumbers 001

“And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard.”  Genesis 9:20 NKJV

“Then he drank of the wine and was drunk, and became uncovered in his tent.”  Genesis 9:21. NKJV

I can’t always tell how things will end up when I begin something.

Thank You, Lord, for keeping us covered from start to finish.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I know your beginnings
and  your endings

and all the days

and I am able
to keep and cover you

so that My love
ia always seen.

God bless all your new beginnings!

Drawn In

“But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.” Genesis 8:9 NKJV

There is no place to rest our souls outside of Him.

Thank You, Lord, for reaching out Your hands and drawing us into Yourself.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

We must go off
and leave the nest

try our wings
find out what’s best

but the only place
we’ll find true rest

is in His hand
drawn to His chest.

God bless you as He puts out His hand and draws you in today.

As God Commands

“Of clean beasts, of beasts that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth,
two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded Noah.”  Genesis 7;8-9 NKJV

God’s commands are full of life.

Thank You, Lord, for the blessing of Your commands. And here is a simple poem . . .

When we do
as God commands

everything changes
according to His plans

for each time
that we obey

we put God’s power
on display.

God bless you as you do what He tells you to this day!

Finding Grace In His Eyes

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”  Genesis 6:8 NKJV

I couldn’t make it through a single day without grace.

Thank You, Lord, for looking upon us with grace.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I saw you
with eyes of grace

as I hung
upon that cross

and even now
My great love

is washing away
your scsrs.

God bless you as He looks upon you with grace today.

This One Will Comfort Us

“And he called his name Noah, saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands . . .”  Genesis 5:29 NKJV

I often read about stepping outside of our comfort zones.

Thank You, Lord, for being our Great Comforter and calling out others to comfort us too.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

There is no shame
in needing His comfort

as we step out
into our day

into the world
full of toil and heartache

so I seek it from Him
and I pray.

God bless you and comfort you today.

At first I thought Aubrey could communicate because she was verbal.  Then a wise lady taught me that communication is the ability to make something happen.  People who can’t communicate well with words use their behavior instead.

Oh Jesus, may I be ready for You to communicate with me today!

Here’s a simple poem to encourage us to allow Jesus to make something happen in us!

Starting Over

Then God remembered Noah
whom He had set adrift
upon his ark of gopher wood,
no, He did not forget,
the reason why He flooded
the earth to start afresh –
so He might have a people
with whom to communicate with.

“Then God spoke to Noah saying, ‘Go out of the ark, you and your wife, your sons and your son’s wives with you.'”  Genesis 8:15-16
