Inside Israel – A Time of Sharing / Part 2

JerAtNight1

Hi and thank you for stopping by for another look inside Israel today!  Our sis in Jerusalem is sharing about what she observes with a heart for Him.  God bless you as you read and pray! Now, here she is .. .

It is now the night of the 18th and I began this letter two days ago.  So much is going on in our country and I am clueless as to what is known on the ‘outside’…and if things from here are being reported, how they are being displayed and interpreted.

Currently our yet-to-be-formed government is in a real crisis.  Our system is a mystery to many of you and indeed, it took me about 10 years to get a minimal grasp on how it works.  Although Netanyahu was elected, he was elected to form the next government and given a time period of just under a month in which to do it.  To do that, he must negotiate with the many parties who won seats in our Knesset (Parliament or Congress) and have a majority join him (thus forming a ‘coalition) and that is just not happening.  If it does not come together soon we will have to go to new elections again.  It is quite serious.

We also have a new ‘scandal’ over a previously unidentified ‘prisoner – x’ who apparently committed suicide in jail.  He held duel Israeli Australian citizenship and an Australian news magazine did a major ‘expose’. He was a Mosad (Israel’s famous spy agency) agent and very serious security issues are involved.  The news media is aflutter with noise…and noise that is potentially damaging to Israel.  This is a dangerous diversion that we could have done without.

The war in Syria has begun spilling over into Israel.  Two days ago, seven Syrian soldiers were brought to Israel having been severely wounded and are in a hospital here in our North.  The rebels seeking to take over Syria are of great concern to Israel.

These are just a few of our current crisis’. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT OUR 7 YEAR WATER CRISIS HAS ENDED! THANK YOU LORD! The FUNNY news is that when the public announcement was made we were told in the next sentence that we were NOT having our water prices rolled back at all, much less the pre-crisis level, because we are now de-salinating water and THAT is expensive!

And in the midst, God remains on the throne!  Does that mean that we will be spared the judgment that seems imminent to the nations of the earth;?  I, personally, do not see it that way.  But it is given to me to know Him and His voice and His ways, and to follow Him. I totally trust His judgment…He IS The Righteous and True Judge.  And how we get to focus on His ways again as the days of Purim rapidly approach.  Thursday is the fast of Esther.  We all seem to love the book of Esther where she is told ‘Perhaps you have come into the kingdom for such a time as this.’  I often think of that as I ride the bus or train or deal with people at work in sometimes such wonderful and fearful ways…but it is for such a time as this that we were each brought to the place in which we stand.  Esther was found faithful.  We read it now and it looks so simple…but the more I look at what it must have been like to really BE her, it the more extraordinary and rare that her faithfulness becomes.  Perhaps you will join with us and spend some time in this book?  Saturday night and Sunday Purim will be celebrated in the country as a whole.  I have been here long enough to watch it take more and more of a form that I am ashamed of…resembling the witches sabbeth or mardi gras more then a scriptural celebration.  The costumes have become generally awful and the drinking (which had a religious tradition) has become a free for all. It is so grievous to me. It is somewhat better for ‘Shushan Purim’ in Jerusalem, the ‘walled city’ which this year begins on Sunday night through Monday.  Perhaps you remember how I have shared over the years that according to the tradition, Purim is held for two days in ‘walled cities’ because Shushan was allowed a second day of Purim.  Since many religious live in Jerusalem, we still see modest Queen Esther and Mordachi costumes.  I do so enjoy watching the religious families with their ‘tribes’ of children, rushing joyfully from place to place happily delivering ‘mishloach manot’ (sent portions) baskets of fruit and sweets all over the city.  As it is recorded in the book of Esther, that the Jews ‘…made the day a day of gladness and feasting, and a good day, and of sending portions one to another.’ (from Esther 9:19) and that continues through today. In the midst of it all, we stop and atleast some of us really are taking notice of the fact that ‘Great things The Lord hath done for us, whereof we are glad’ as David said in Psalm 126

And so, having taken so much of your time already, I will just quickly bring you up to date concerning our family. My husband was in great pain the night that the prayer conference began, and he was diagnosed with a ‘closed pelvic fracture’.  I have been 120% involved in medical things concerning him and the results are inconclusive, but he is much better.  He seems to be fine now…is walking and working although he has missed a lot of work due to dr. appointments and tests. He became extremely depressed and the weight of our children and Grandchildren leaving the country became very heavy again.  I was way overtired with all of the added responsibilities and came down with a stubborn case of bronchitis. It picked up a shovel and dug me a deep slimy pity-party-pit. His wonderful faithful Spirit battled in me and I repented of that sin and plan to stay in His victory.  I actually have much that I would love to share about that, but will end with a birthday gift that He gave me yesterday:

Perhaps some of you remember the wonderful gift that I was given last year at this time when He miraculously opened the door for me to go to Tel Aviv Yafo for a night and two days to attend a conference for local women lead by a sister from America whom I had never heard of (Dottie Schmidt).  I NEVER do anything like this, but I had an irresistible urge to go and recognized that it was Him.  I was deeply touched at that conference and the sister ministering and I had a special connection.  As the same time of year approached I began to pray about going again should she return, but this time the door was firmly closed. I prayed about it.  I received an email from a local sister telling me that she had driven this visiting sister to a congregation to speak that Shabat and Dottie had asked ‘Do you know a woman named ______ (remember I don’t use my name at all online) from Jerusalem?  She was at the meetings last year and I have been praying for her and was looking forward to seeing her’.  The sister mentioned the hotel that she was staying in before the meetings begin and it is within walking distance of my apartment.  Since yesterday was my day off, I prayed and though ‘What presumption! But Lord, if You want us to meet up, please make a way.’  I went down town and did my chores and kept lifting it up.  On the way back home I took a deep breath and thought ‘What can I loose.’ And committed it to The Lord.  I had a card to leave at the desk for her and was going to sit down and write in it when I thought; perhaps I’ll leave a message at her room as well.  I called up from the desk and she answered.  I was flustered.  She insisted that I come up and looked amazed.  ‘How in the world did you know that I was here?’ she asked.  Then she explained that she had only been in the room to sleep and that this was a 3 hour period that she had asked to stay back alone!  Indeed The Hand of The Lord had given me a gift as we shared and prayed together and I was deeply ministered to!

AND…I have NO DOUBT that your prayers (and I do NOT say that as flattery or fancy spiritual words, God forbid!) play such an important role in my life and the path through this world to victory … for His glory!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read all (or part) of this.  Thank you for standing with us.  Please know that you would be embarrassed if you knew how much I care about each of you…you are a blessing!

May His grace and mercy draw each of us deeper into His Word and His Spirit…and may we have His discernment in these day!  Lovingly, your sis here.

Inside Israel – Bus Buzzings

Thank you for stopping by today for a look inside Israel. I’m sharing a short note from J of Jerusalem along with prayer notes from her pastor about the recent unrest there. God bless you for praying for J, her family and her nation and His, Israel. Now, here’s J . . .

GREETINGS in the deep deep love of Messiah Yeshua!

First, I wish to thank those of you who have been remembering our family in prayer as I shared an unspoken prayer request concerning our younger daughter. Today is her 30th birthday and I want to rejoice with you in His gift of LIFE and ask you to continue to keep her in your prayers. Thank you!

As I said, the bus is buzzing with ‘opinions’…in spite of the intense heat, long delays and overcrowding, everyone has an opinion. It is about the the escalating social unrest. Although the growing protest demands are often naive and unreasonable, I felt that the two postings that Ofer (my pastor) sent out today, are very well directed to help us pray into the subject, and I want to pass them along. The first one is below. In the second one, he enclosed 4 ‘links’ to excellent, short video’s that contain a wealth of understanding about the situations that Israel is facing. I am not able to add them in here (I am not very sophisticated at transferring the ‘links’) but if you go on to his website (Israel Prayer Center Jerusalem Ofer Amitai) you can open them, or, ask me to forward them to you individually. That I think I can do. In the midst of the growing unrest here, we are seeing a broken ex President, Hosni Mubarak, on a stretcher in a cage in Egypt going before a court. WE NEED TO APPEAL ONLY TO THE JUDGE ON HIGH WHO JUDGES IN RIGHTEOUSNESS CONCERNING THESE THINGS.

May we TRULY pray with The Spirit and pray with understanding also. Thank you for walking in His will for His glory. love, your sis in Jerusalem

Prayer Priority Update
“I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also”
Corinthians 14:15

He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land
Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah. In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. In those days Judah will triumph and Israel live in safety. And this is the name the city will be called: THE Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.’ Jeremiah. 33:14-16

Israel – in great social turmoil
Israel is being shaken from within. Thousands of people have been sleeping in tent cities erected in major thoroughfares in major cities. Thousands of mothers have marched with baby buggies to protest the high cost of bringing children up in Israel. Doctors have been striking for over 100 days over ridiculously low wages (residents make 25 NIS an hour), long hours, gaping lack of manpower.

Why are people fed up with the situation?
High cost of living has made it impossible for the middle-class to make ends meet. Cost of food, for instance, has gone up 30% in the last few years. Cost of property, both rental, and for purchase, have become so prohibitive, that students and young people can no longer afford it, period. The price of goods in Israel, is one of the highest in the world, while wages are ridiculously low. For example: Police officers make between a bit over 4,000 NIS a month, they do not get extra for overtime. Teachers get about the same, maybe a bit better. The average wage in Israel is about 8,500 NIS compared with 13,000 in the US (17,000 NIS in big US cities), 16,000 NIS in France. Yet, the cost of living in Israel is several times that of Europe and the US. Most people are in the minus in the bank; it’s an accepted norm and the banks treat it as an automatic loan – which gets people into a deeper hole.
Why is the situation so bad?
Although Israel’s economy has done extremely well and the country is prosperous, its citizens have not shared in the bonanza. This is so, because the wealth and benefits of Israel’s prosperity have not trickled down to the people but have been concentrated in the hands of about 20 very wealthy families. These are Israel’s tycoons.
Ten large business groups control 30 percent of the market value of public companies, while 16 control half the money in the entire country! (1)

According to the central bank’s annual report, published in May, the top families control 25 percent of the listed companies and 50 percent of the total market share in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The bank warns that this represents one of the highest concentrations of business power among developed economies, posing a “systemic risk” to the financial system and threatening to drag other segments of the economy down should the tycoons falter.” (2)
Naturally, the concentration of so much power and money gives the tycoon families enormous influence on the government and the governing of Israel.
For more background information, read entire articles here and here
Another source for the problem is that the government owns and controls 93% of all the land in Israel. Up to now, there has been no plan in place to develop and build rental property, or build affordable housing. Thus, the little construction that is going on is aimed more at the upper classes, including wealthy Jews from abroad.

*
Situation similar at the time of Nehemiah
The people’s complaints to In Nehemiah were very similar in nature to the people’s complaints today. Read passage: Nehemiah 5:1-13
God cares about social justice
– For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise,” says the LORD; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.” Psalm 12:5
– He will judge Your people with righteousness, And Your poor with justice.” Psalm 72:2
– He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, And will break in pieces the oppressor.” Psalm 72:4
In the first message of Isaiah to Israel, God confronts Israel for its social injustice. Interestingly, God’s promise to make Israel as pure as snow and to be blessed in the Land, is tied into this issue:
Isaiah 1:16-26
In the wonderful promise of Israel restoration quoted at the beginning of this Prayer Update, we see that Yeshua executes righteousness and judgment in the Land! Its part of the plan of the restoration of Israel.
Some dangers for Israel at this time of upheaval
It is already clear from what is happening on the ground, that different interest groups are trying to manipulate this movement to their own ends, especially it is true of the left wing parties who would like to use this movement to overthrow the government.
The intention of the Palestinians to declare an independent state: We are one month away from another huge challenge to Israel and that is the unilateral declaration of a state by the Palestinians. Anything can happen at that time: A new Intifada, regional war, uprising of the Arab sector in the Land, another attempt of massive marches into Israel by people from neighboring Arab nations.

PRAYING FOR ISRAEL DURING THIS CURRENT SITUATION
Key players are uniquely qualified to deal with the current issues
Netanyahu has a deep understanding of Israel’s economy and finances. Although he may be a little out of touch with the needs of ordinary people, he is sensible and understands the economy.
Stanley Fisher, Bank of Israel’s Governor is a good man who has been able to secure Israel’s economy despite the world wide down turn.
Please pray

* For Bibi – that this would be his finest hour, that he would rise to the occasion and be inspired to be a true statesman who will stand up for his nation at this difficult hour.
* For the government to rise up to the occasion and serve Israel’s highest and best interests
* For Bib – that he would be protected by the Lord from the pressure of the tycoon families, and will stand up to them where necessary.
* For the government to honestly deal with the underlaying problems in our system, and to have courage to make the fundamental changes, instead of “throwing the populace a bone.”
* For the Lord to keep the tycoon families from paralyzing the process.
* For a just solution in all the areas needed so that ordinary Israelis will be able to live here and make it here in the land and that immigrants will be able prosper here as well. [Did you know that Israel has negative Aliya (immigration)? The number of Israelis emigrating from Israel is larger than the immigration to the land – by 5000 people.]

May the Passion and Zeal of the Living God consume your thoughts and heart to burn in intercession before Him. And may He mightily lead you to pray for His Kingdom to come and will to be done ON THE EARTH as it is done in Heaven. Israel’s restoration is but a key that unlocks untold blessing to the entire earth, and its peoples!!!!
And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”
Romans 11:26-27

Inside Israel – Intercessors For Israel

Hi everyone! Thank you for coming by today, as the days draw closer to the celebration of Christ’s birth. J of Jerusalem wasn’t able to e-mail this week, but she had sent this early, for those who would like to know specifically how and what to pray for Israel. God bless you always!

International Prayer Conference
Jerusalem, January 24th – 31st, 2011

If I forget you, o Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth – if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Ps. 137:5-6

Friday Prayer Points
10 December 2010

1.

We read Zephaniah 3:14-17 to start our time together.
*

Sing, daughter of Zion. Shout, Israel. Be glad and rejoice with all the heart, daughter of Jerusalem. LORD [YHWH] has taken away your judgments. He has cast out your enemy. The king of Israel – LORD – is in the midst of you. You shall not see evil any more. In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear not, and to Zion, Let not your hands be slack. LORD your God in the midst of you is mighty. He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy. He will rest in His love. He will joy over you with singing.

*

What a precious promise. We bless You as we begin to see the initial fulfillment of this coming to pass in our day.
*

God, we are amazed at the fact that You are both mighty and tender.
*

Blessed be the name of our God and King.
*

We thank You that You have told us that You look forward to all prayers lifted up to You in the name of Your Son Yeshua (Prov. 15:8b, 29b).
2.

We next prayed about Israel’s water crisis.
*

Abba, we thank You for the rainfall last week.

You God, sent plentiful rain, whereby You did confirm Your inheritance, when it was weary.
Psalms 68:9

*

We bless You that the forecast for this weekend is for stormy weather over Israel – including snowfall on Mount Hermon.
*

Lord, we have seen in the past that forecasts have not come to fulfillment because of sudden changes in the weather patterns. We plead with You to not let that happen now.
*

Lord, You are the one who fed the 5,000 and the 4,000 with miraculous increase. Please do the same with whatever water Israel has or receives.
*

We thank You for Israel being at the forefront of desalinization technology, but we confess that we are trusting in You and not man, to provide Israel’s water needs (Jer. 17:7-8).
*

Please give to Israelis – both leaders and others – wisdom on how to use the water that You provide.

For LORD gives wisdom…knowledge and understanding.
Prov. 2:6

3.

It has been reported that Israel is attempting to reconcile with Turkey over the Gaza flotilla incident in late May that left 9 Turkish terrorists dead. Turkey is insisting on both an apology and compensation for the families. This would be so wrong for Israel to do – morally and politically – as well as be a very dangerous move in this rough neighborhood in which Israel has to live.
*

Lord, since all Israel was doing was protecting herself, do not allow this apology to be issued.
*

Harden the hearts of the Turkish leaders so that whatever Israel’s government presents them will not be enough.
*

A man’s heart plans his way: but LORD directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

*

Raise up such strong opposition to this in the cabinet, that Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu cannot go forward with this even if he wants to.
*

Thank You that Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has taken a strong stance against this.
*

Abba, prevent Israel from putting her trust in Turkey (Isa. 30:1-3; 31:1).
*

Allow truth to reign.

Judgment is turned away, and justice stands far off, for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. Truth fails, and he that departs from evil makes himself a prey. LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice.
Isaiah 59:14-15

*

Protect Israel’s leadership from any demonic manipulation in this situation.
4.

We turned our attention to Israel’s current government and PM Netanyahu. Everywhere they turn, they are faced with a crisis situation: water, security, the “peace process”, preparedness for war, Iran and Islam’s continual threats, the delegitimizing of this nation’s right to exist, etc.
*

Lord Yeshua, King of Israel, You see the tremendous pressure that Israel’s current leaders are facing. We lift them up to You. Strengthen, encourage and give them wisdom.
*

Grace them with Your power to be all You want them to be at this time in history.
*

We know that Netanyahu has “come to the kingdom for such a time as this.” (Est. 4:14b) Therefore, give him all the authority, wisdom, courage and strength he needs to do that which is pleasing in Your sight.
*

We do thank You for Bibi and ask for his spiritual eyes to be opened to His Messiah.
*

Hedge in the government so that they can only make decisions that are in line with Your will.
*

Open their eyes to see truth from error.
*

May You not have to proclaim this over them:

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!…Who justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
Isaiah 5:20,23

*

Make this government one which follows Your holy standards for a godly government.

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Will you then not be afraid of the power? Do good, and you shall have praise of the same. For he is the minister of God to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid, for he bears not the sword in vain. For he is the minister of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him that does evil.
Romans 13:3-4

5.

Gaza and it’s Hamas overlords, are becoming a more dangerous threat as the missiles and mortars that are fired from there increase. There is now talk of Israel needing to go back in and deal with Hamas.
*

Abba, comfort and heal the Israeli who was seriously injured by another attack from Gaza yesterday.
*

Enable this to be a wake up call to both government and people that we just cannot allow the situation in Gaza to fester like we are doing now.
*

We bless You for Your continued divine protect over this land (Jer. 31:10).
*

Give the IDF wisdom and a plan on how to deal with Hamas.

Jericho was tightly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. LORD said unto Joshua, “I have given into your hand Jericho, the king, and the mighty men of valor.”
Josh. 6:1-2

*

Direct Israel to a cautious but aggressive response to these attacks and even allow her to pre-empt further attacks.
*

Use the IDF to terrorize the terrorists (Rom. 13:3-4).
*

Protect all the IDF patrols along the Gaza border. Give them discernment.
*

Prevent any successful kidnapping attempts of IDF soldiers.
*

Give to the IDF’s new Chief of Staff, Yoav Galant, the spirit of a warrior and a love for Israel.
*

Set Gilad Shalit free physically – and save him.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me; because LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, the opening of the prison to them that are bound.
Isaiah 61:1

6.

Last week’s fire on Mt. Carmel showed this nation, and her enemies, Israel’s weakness in dealing with major fires on the home front. This is a strategic danger that must be dealt with quickly and with much wisdom.
*

Lord, thank You for this wake-up call.
*

Stir up the government to do something about this – now.
*

Instead of playing the blame-game, bring Israel’s leaders into unity to deal with this.
*

Confuse any plans of the enemy to take advantage of this.

Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
Psa. 129:5

*

Hizbullah in Lebanon has amassed a huge missile arsenal. Give the IDF Your plan on how to deal with them and destroy their weapons (Isa. 54:17).
7.

Iran talked with the five UN Security Council nations plus Germany this past week. And that is all they did – talk. They plan to meet to talk some more next month. And this is seen as a positive step in the prevention of Iran developing a nuclear weapon. What more proof do we need to see that most of the world is deceived because of turning away from God and His solutions.
*

…because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved…God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie…
2 Thess. 2:10b-11

*

Abba, we have asked You to arise and scatter Your enemies (Psa. 68:1). And it seems that You are doing just that.
*

We thank You for the continuing shaking of Iran – economically, physically and spiritually.
*

Continue to divide their leadership.

Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
Psa. 55:9

*

If You are going to use Israel to strike at Iran (Jer. 51:20), then give her leaders wisdom concerning Your timing and method.
*

Protect us from the reaction in the aftermath of an Israeli attack.
*

Thank You that WikiLeaks exposed what the Arab leaders really think about Iran – their fear and hatred of her – and their desire that either America or Israel to take care of her.
*

We bless You for saving multitudes of Iranians and we bless them out of Zion (Psa. 134:3).
*

Anoint them to know how to intercede for their nation at this crucial time.
*

Expose all of Iran’s schemes and demonic plans.
*

Protect Israeli spies or informants.
*

Place in their hands accurate information to pass on to Israel.

Genesis 45 is part of this Shabbat’s Torah portion. This is where Joseph tells all his Egyptian servants to leave the room, and then reveals himself to his brothers. This is a type of Yeshua revealing Himself to His Jewish brothers in the last days. We used this to pray for Israel’s salvation.

Thank you for continuing to maintain your place on Jerusalem’s walls.

Shabbat shalom from Zion,
The IFI Team

But the end of all things is at hand:
be therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Inside Israel . . .Succot!

Hi everyone and thanks for coming to Inside Israel today as J of Jerusalem gives us a peek at what’s going on inside her heart this Succot!

SUCCOT!  My FAVORITE of the Holy days prescribed in the scriptures!  Tomorrow we build the succa and I have much to write about and much joy, but there are two things weighing on my heart that are keeping me awake this night, so I will trust that I am given a time to write about Succot later on.  THANK YOU FOR PRAYING FOR OUR DAUGHTER!  I JUST got back home earlier today (or…now it is ‘yesterday’…I’m writing at 3:30 in the morning and we build the succa TODAY!  OY!).  It was just a viral infection, apparently, but she was quite ill and being 5 months pregnant with a high fever and dehydration, she (and the baby) needed to be watched and she needed several infusions as I cared for her and our Grandchildren.  They will come up to Jerusalem later today for more ‘rest’.  Thank you SO much for your prayers!

But two things have been on my mind:

There are two things that have brought down most Israeli Prime ministers:  One is war…the other is peace.  That isn’t a flowery statement; it has been true throughout our short, stormy, modern history.  In war, we are a painfully soul searching people, and from Ben Gurion and Golda Meir on down, our people scrutinize all of our own moves… ‘Did we do our best?’, ‘Did we treat our soldiers, our civilians, our enemies with all the dignity that human life deserves?’, ‘Did we waste resources?’  Since we are HUMAN…the answer is always in the negative somewhere and the leaders receive the heavy penalty.  Perhaps it SHOULD be this way, but we appear to be particularly hard on leaders.  Peace has had the same results…Since we have been here, we have witnessed the assassination of Rabin and the downfall of all of those following.  Neither you nor I have time for a history lesson right now, but our Prime Minister Netanyahu is between a rock and a hard place right now with the immense pressure on him to continue the building freeze that has been in place for 10 months.  It is scheduled to end on the 26th and the Arabs along with the international community are screaming for it to continue.  Again, no time to explain now in depth, but it CAN’T continue!  It was ESTABLISHED with a FIRM PROMISE FROM HIM TO HIS PEOPLE that it would NOT be extended under any circumstances.  If BB breaks that promise, the internal conflict will have ATLEAST the same awful results that the Gaza ‘divorce’ had (and, yes, Ariel Sharon is still in a deep coma).  Internally, the wounds are still bleeding and the breach is huge.  THOSE OF YOU WHO PRAY FOR OUR NATION ACCORDING TO THE WILL OF THE LORD, PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR PRIME MINISTER WITH RENEWED VIGOR DURING THE NEXT CRUCIAL WEEK!

But there were TWO things so heavy on my heart.  God, grant me Your heart and Words to write this please!

Very recently, while writing about the Rosh h’shana, I added a web site from a Jewish sect called the karaites.  They are a small group who has held to the doctrine of following the written scriptures alone, and NOT using the added texts of the mishna and the talmud, NOR following the oral traditions of the sages.  ON THAT POINT I AGREE WITH THEM.  Also note, THEY DO NOT FOLLOW YESHUA NOR RECOGNIZE HIM AS SAVIOUR.  I need to make that clear.

I have noted a wonderful and growing hunger in the body worldwide to understand Jewish roots, and I have no doubt that this is from The Lord!  How wonderful that He has mercy on us all and leads us into all He has for us along His path!  He is so faithful and it is awesome to me to see how He reveals the SAME TRUTHS to humble sheep around the world, He TRULY leads His flock as a Shepherd!  But I have also watched the enemy sow tares in the midst and it is scary in these dangerous times, in these days of deception.  Any of us (me included!) can become TOO zealous as well as too cold…we can go into the ditch on the right side of the path OR the left.  So I have, with great grief, watched people I knew, since I’ve lived here, even Jewish believers here, even Gentile believers here…renounce Him- enamored by the beautiful traditions, or by the temptation to keep the Law…embrace orthodox Judaism, or just a form of it…we humans are such…HUMANS, or perhaps real sheep.  I’ve watched this for years.  But after adding the karaite site for the information it gave, my heart was troubled, as it began to be after I added something from Chabad awhile back.  As I sought Him about it, He reminded me of something that happened to me some 35 years ago.  Here is the story:

When I was a new believer, I wondered why we celebrate the sabbath (shabat) on Sun and not Sat.  It DIDN’T ‘shake my faith’, but I ‘wondered’.  You know that old Christmas song “I wondered as I wandered”?  Well, I did that, and one day I met some Seventh Day Adventists.  As we talked, they fed my questioning mind with their answers (there was a tinge of pride, and a tinge of mocking, but I put that aside)…that ofcourse the church ‘was in error’, and to be ‘right’ I needed to join them.  I went to one or two of their meetings, but ‘something’ just didn’t sit right and I didn’t feel His Presence in the same way.  Oh…the teaching was basically sound… but…’Something’…What was it!  Have you ever felt that?  Well, being a tender baby yet, He so graciously, led me and (like tonight) I couldn’t sleep…questioning ‘what was wrong?’  In those early days, He ‘spoke’ to me a lot.  There was still SO much that I needed to learn to be able to keep walking in His path.  He spoke to me about this clearly, gently and graciously.  He said something like; ‘You know, they are ‘right’ about this point, but it has led them to proudly separate themselves from my body.  They foster division over this one issue and I am not in that.  I would rather My body worship on Sat, but to WORSHIP they must walk in SPIRIT AND in Truth!  My Spirit is ONE!  That is more important to me then on which day they worship.  Someday I will set it right, but it will be ME Who does!’

I learned SO much from that lesson!  Yeshua taught about those who swallow a camel but strain at a gnat.  God keep me from placing a stumbling block before ANY of my brother’s feet!  We live in SUCH dangerous times, spiritually.  Not every spirit that wiggles is The HOLY Spirit!  (thank you P. Hill for that.  I still remember that).  Whereas I do, beyond a doubt, believe that God Himself is restoring an understanding of Who He Is through restoring the FULL scripture to His people, both first and second covenants, the WHOLE Book, I know that if l don’t ‘major in the basics’, the ‘foundational truths’, I will loose my way.  God FORBID that I should do or write anything more then allow Him to use me to enrich the soil that those foundations are set in and that those roots sink deeply into.

Oh my…it is time to wake up and I’ve barely slept.  I DO pray that you can read beyond these words into His Heart.  The Holy days and the ways that He set before us are ALL to point to Him and all meant for His worship and glory, but without Yeshua, we are lost.  His purposes and promises for His STILL chosen Jewish people still stand because His Promises are True, but there remains much mystery involved that has NOT been revealed yet as to His ways and timing.  ONLY in Yeshua are we saved.  How THANKFUL I am for Him!

Thank you J, for teaching and leading us closer to Him! Thanks to everyone who feels led to pray for Israel and J!

Inside Israel

Praying for each of you as you join me today for a look inside Israel. J of Jerusalem brings us her observations as only she can, a believer who trusts God in the land He promised.  God bless you as you read the following and trust in His promises too.

“Shma Yisroel, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Ahad!”  “Hear o Israel…The Lord our God…The Lord is One!”

I walked outside with Gila, our dog, this morning at 5am and the air pulsed with the sound of the Moslem call to prayer.  It is Ramadan; the Moslem month of fasting (from dawn until dusk) prayer, repentance and meditation.

At sunrise, I walked toward the bus for our 6:30 ifi prayer meeting, just as the shofarim (the rams horns) are sounding in synagogues, calling Jews to prayer, reading of scriptures and meditation as we are in the month of Elul, the Jewish month of deep reflection before God and repentance.

I ride the bus with Moslems and Jews as I make my way to prayer meeting, listening…listening to the sounds and wondering as each people, fighting from the womb, seek peace, peace within and peace with God, and some…even peace with each other.  Our first topic for prayer today is salvation; first we pray for the Jews.  Next we pray for the Moslems.

I leave for work and am on the bus when the 7am news begins.  ‘Peace talks are to begin this coming Thursday.’  The US President Obama is determined.  Everybody on the bus cringes.  Without exception peace talks have produced blood baths here in our streets, not usually, but 100% of the time.  Not just for the 16 years that we have been here, but for the 46 years before…and throughout history.

I have not spoken much of the situations here in the middle east for awhile.  The emails that I get seem to reflect the fact that most of you receive plenty of reports and commentary from other believers in the region and one more does not add that much to your insight in prayer and understanding, but today I ‘heard’ such a call…a ‘reminder’ if you will…that the current events, the daily events and the spiritual events that take place here are as much intertwined today as they were throughout recorded scripture.  And surely that is the point…we are living the continuance of recorded scripture here.

I’ve written twice now about the dream that I had in 1988 concerning Iran.   Back then, both the thought that Iran would have world wide influence or that we would be living here were extremely remote.

Shma Yisroel, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Ahad!” “Hear o Israel…The Lord our God…The Lord is One!” This is the main foundational prayer in Judaism.  HEAR! I listen.  Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.  Open my ears, Lord, that I may hear.  Open the ears of my heart, Lord, that I might be attentive.  Let me hearken: ‘this is the way, walk ye in it.’  I listen to the shofarim and to the chants from the Moslem minaret.  Each calling to different, opposing God/gods.  A call to battle.  A call to preparation.  The call gets louder.

The sun has fully risen and the ‘calls’ fade into the din of increasing traffic and the movement of people and goods.  That represents well my personal battle…my ears are sharpened to Him in the morning but often seem to grow dull through out the day, worn down by the day’s noise and demands.  But the call is surely becoming louder and more urgent.  Certainly the days for which He has trained us are approaching rapidly…and are even here.

May we pray, using the ears of our hearts filled with His Spirit in these days ahead.  Those of you who have been called to pray for and or stand with Israel, may you each stand the ground He has given you to take, and not be turned aside.  I write with deep love for Him and for you.  For those of you who use them and don’t get them directly, here are the Friday morning ifi prayer points.  Lovingly, your sis

Friday Prayer Points

27 August 2010

1. We used selected verses from this Shabbat’s prophetic reading (Isaiah 60:1-22), as an encouragement to praise our God. Please note that this chapter specifically speaks to Israel as she is in the process of being restored from the nations and then saved.

·         Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of LORD [YHWH] is risen upon you. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but LORD shall arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you. And the Gentiles/nations shall come to your light… Lift up your eyes round about, and see…Your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side. Then you shall see, and… your heart shall fear… [because] the forces [or “wealth”] of the Gentiles shall come unto you… they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall show forth the praises of LORD.

Therefore, these gentiles must be Christians – because only they would show forth the praises of LORD.

·         For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish. Yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted.

·         Violence shall be heard no more in your land, nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

·         …LORD shall be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended. Your people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land forever…that I may be glorified. A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I LORD will hasten it in his time.

·         How wonderful to have our eyes opened to see so much of this prophecy coming to pass just as You said it would.

·         If you are so faithful to Your promises to this people – while they are still in unbelief – how much more will You watch over Your word to those of us who believe.

·         Precious Lord, we bless You from Your holy city of Jerusalem.

2. We are in the month of Ellul, the month of repentance according to Judaism. It is a great time to intercede for the salvation of the children of Israel.

·         Your people also shall be all righteous…that I may be glorified.

Isaiah 60:21

·         Abba, we ask for multitudes of Jews to have the veil removed – that they might become righteous in Messiah Yeshua – so that You might be glorified.

·         We bless You that you have made Yeshua to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Cor. 5:21b)

·         Lord, as many Orthodox attend services every morning this month and listen to the sound of the shofar, open their spiritual eyes to see Messiah Yeshua.

·         Save all remaining Holocaust survivors. Use believers – especially descendents of those who persecuted them – to provoke them to jealousy (Isaiah 60:14).

·         Yeshua, meet with many of Israel’s soldiers as they guard this nation.

·         Touch the youth of this nation. Pluck out a significant remnant for Your holy name’s sake.

·         And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, says LORD. As for Me, this is My covenant with them…My spirit that is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, nor out of the mouth of your seed, nor out of the mouth of your seed’s seed, says LORD, from now and forever.

Isaiah 59:20-21

Redeem the unsaved loved ones of Messianic Jews.

3. As this is also the Islamic month of Ramadan, we prayed for Moslem salvations.

·         We ask for a harvest of Israeli Arab Moslems.

·         Send workers into the Moslem harvest fields.

The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Pray therefore to the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.

Matt. 9:37-38

·         Thank You for the work You are doing among many Islamic groups and nations. Increase the ex-Moslem Church exponentially over this Ramadan.

·         Save many Palestinians and turn them into on fire Christian Zionists!

·         Use Iranian believers to reach out to Iranian Moslems with the good news of Messiah.

·         While Moslems are fasting during the days of Ramadan, reveal Yourself.

·         Walk among the Moslems who go up to the Temple Mount today and do all of the ritual prayers. Surprise some of them with an experience of Yourself.

·         After this I looked, and, behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and families, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palms in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God who sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

Rev. 7:9-10

4. On September 2nd direct “peace” talks are suppose to start between Israel and the Palestinian Authority in Washington, DC, under the auspices of the Obama administration. Already there are signs that absolutely nothing will be accomplished – and that is good for both Israel and the nations who are pushing us to divide God’s land.

·         For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for My people and for My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land.

Joel 3:1-2

·         Lord, the noose is tightening around the neck of Israel. We are being told that we must – for the sake of “world peace,” – divide our inheritance with a people who refuse to even recognize us as the Jewish State.

LORD, it is nothing with You to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power. Help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You.

2 Chr. 14:11

·         If it had not been LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say… when men rose up against us: then they had swallowed us up quick…Then the waters had overwhelmed us… Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Psalms 124:1-8

·         We do thank You that according to King David in this Psalm, You are on Israel’s side – as we say so!

·         Break this snare that the nations are setting for Israel’s negotiators – especially our Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.

·         Help Bibi to trust and look to You more than to trust and look to the nations – especially America with its current administration.

·         We ask for a strong anointing on Bibi and his negotiating team to not be manipulated or deceived by anything that happens in these talks (Num. 23:23).

·         Instead, give Netanyahu supernatural clarity and insight to avoid all of the snares that will be set before him.

·         Continue to harden the already hard hearts of the PA leadership. Let Obama and his team see that they are being unreasonable and not willing to compromise one iota.

·         Wake up the believers in America to the grave danger their current political leadership is leading them into and encourage them to stand in the gap for their nation and its relationship to Your nation Israel.

I sought for a man…that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore…have consumed them with the fire of My wrath…

Ezek. 22:30-31b

·         For thus says LORD of hosts; After the glory has He sent Me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that touches you touches the apple of His eye.

Zech. 2:8

5. Israel’s security was the next topic of prayer this morning. First – Iran.

·         LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me… they stumbled and fell. Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Psalms 27:1-3

·         Abba, You see what is happening in Iran. Arise and defend us from this threat from the Spirit of Persia.

·         Shake Iran spiritually by continuing to save multitudes.

And I will set My throne in Elam [ancient Persia]

Jer. 49:38a

·         Shake Iran politically and divide their current leadership.

and will destroy from [Elam] the king and the princes, says LORD.

Jer. 49:38b

·         Shake Iran physically and send stronger earthquakes – especially in the areas where they have built their centrifuges and at Bushehr, where their first nuclear plant is being filled.

·         Anoint Israel’s spies inside Iran to obtain accurate and up-to-date intelligence information.

·         Lord, show us how to pray into the current Middle East situation where now almost every nation wants to have nuclear energy – Egypt, Jordan even Lebanon and others.

6. Next, we prayed into the security situation in the North with Hizbullah and its hold on Lebanon. If Hizbullah is revealed as the organization that assassinated former Lebanese PM Rafik Hariri, there will be chaos and bloodshed as they will try to divert attention away from themselves – and focus either on Israel or internally against others in Lebanon.

·         Have mercy on Lebanon and remove from them their Islamic overlords.

·         Cause the truth to come to light from the UN tribunal investigating the assassination.

·         Remember the prayers of multitudes of Your people for Israel’s safety from a threat from this direction.

Let the priests, ministers of LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare Your people, O LORD, and give not Your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the people, Where is their God?  Then will LORD be jealous for His land, and pity His people… I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate…

Joel 2:17-20

·         Throw Israel’s enemies into confusion – whether Hamas in the south, or Hizbullah in the north, or Syria and Iran.

Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.

Psalms 55:9

Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

Psalms 129:5

·         Do not allow the confusion of the IDF’s current Chief of Staff being on his way out and the next CoS already being named cause confusion in the ranks of Israel’s army.

·         Help Gabi Ashkenazi [current CoS] and Yoav Galant [next CoS] work well together and to have a smooth transition.

·         With the IDF seemingly having two heads for the next several months, do not allow them to be double-minded!

·         Keep all of our soldiers alert and able to discern any potential and real threats – to either themselves or this nation.

We finished by praying for aliyah – the immigration of the Jews in exile back to the land of their forefathers – the land which God has promised to them over 200 times in Scriptures. We are seeing an incredible miracle as the living God fulfills His word – which He spoke into existence over 2500 years ago.

Moreover the word of LORD came unto me, saying,
Jeremiah, what do you see?
I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
Then said LORD unto me, You have well seen:
for I will watch over My word to perform it.

Jeremiah 1:11-12
