“So Deal With Me”

“Then Solomon sent to Hiram king of Tyre, saying,

‘As you have dealt with David my father, and sent him cedars to build a house to dwell in,  so deal with me.'”  2 Chronicles 2:3

Hiram indeed treated Solomon well, as he had his father.

Father, may we gladly receive Your Son, whom You’ve sent to us, and adore Him.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Receive the Son

As you’ve dealt with the Father                                       
so deal with the Son
for they are together
with Spirit, as One.
As you believed in the Father
now believe and have faith
that He sent His son to you
your sins from you to take.

A Thousand Burnt Offerings

“And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.”  2 Chronicles 1:6

Before Solomon ever asked for or received wisdom and knowledge and became the wealthiest of kings, he offered God a thousand burnt offerings.

Oh Lord, may we worship You extravagantly today, right in the place where we are.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Worship Through and Through                                       

You give me new life
and cause me not to fear

bringing peace and assurance
that You  are very near

my heart wants to beat with
only worship through and through

thousands upon thousands of
“Oh how I love you’s”.

In Love

“But King Solomon loved many foreign women . . .from the nations of whom the Lord had said to the children of Israel, ‘You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you.  For surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods.’  Solomon clung to these in love.”  1 Kings 11:1-2

Love is always a good thing, right?

Lord, show me what I love today that will turn my heart away from You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Above and Beyond

So much to love
in this life

our children, our friends
our husbands, our wives

all special blessings
sent by our God

oh, but to love Him
above and beyond.
