How Merciful

 

How merciful
You are to me

how kind are You
Jesus

for You filled me
with Your love

and showed me how
to trust.

You are with me and have mercy on me.

Glorifying God

 

We can
follow Him
even
unto death

knowing we
glorify Him
with each
loving kindness.

You establish ways for me to glorify You.

“This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, ‘Follow Me.’ ” John 21:19 NKJV

The Lifter

 

I am the lifter
of your head

My kindness
you’ll be shown

as you sit before Me
all your days

and My provision
is made known.

You establish Your kindness to me.

“Now it came to pass in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty fifth day of the month, that Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out of prison. And he spoke kindly to him and gave him a more prominent seat than those of the kings who were with him in Babylon. So Jehoiachin changed from his prison garments, and he ate bread regularly before the king all the days of his life. And as for his provisions, there was a regular ration given him by the king of Babylon, a portion for each day until the day of his death, all the days of his life.” Jeremiah 52:31,32,33,34 NKJV

Be Established

 

With mercy I
will draw you close

kindness, peace
imbue

in righteousness
you will be found

shame and oppression
removed.

I am established by Your righteousness.

“My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed, says the LORD, who has mercy on you. In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear . . .” Isaiah 54:10,14 NKJV

Clothed

 

I shall clothe you
with strength and honor
and when you open
your mouth

it will be in wisdom
and on your tongue
the law of kindness
will come out.

A laid down life is clothed with strength and honor from God.

“Strength and honor are her clothing; she shall rejoice in time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.” Proverbs 31:25,26 NKJV

Saving Truth

 

I came first
to Israel
but then
to Gentiles too

so that everyone
everywhere
could know
My saving truth.

A laid down life is showered with merciful kindness.

“Oh, praise the LORD, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!” Psalm 117:1-2 NKJV

Showing Kindness

Then he said, ‘ O LORD God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham.’ ”  Genesis 24:12  NKJV

I love this servant’s heart.

Thank You, Lord, for Your incredible kindness to us as we seek to please You and obey.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Success
will look different

to each one of
us today

as we love You
and seek You

and desire
to obey.

God bless you with His incredible kindness today!

I Will Show Kindness

“Then David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.”  So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father.”  1 Chronicles 19:2

Things got messy after this as Hanun was advised and believed that David’s intentions were to spy on him, not comfort him.

Lord, we desire to keep reaching out in kindness today. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Again                                               

When we reach out
in kindness
but it’s twisted
into something else
and explaining
only makes it worse

we stop

until the next time
when we reach out
in kindness again.

The Kindness of God

“Then the king said, ‘Is there not still someone of the house of Saul, to whom I many show the kindness of God’?”  2 Samuel 9:3

I’m usually kind to those around me . . .who are kind.

Lord, help me to seek out someone who needs to know the kindness of God.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Supernaturally Kind

To be kind to someone
who is kind
just comes naturally

but to be kind
to the one who throws
stones of judgment

will take You
working in me
supernaturally.
