Stumbling Blocks

I live and die
to You Lord

for You are
over all

and pray to not
be the cause

of another to stumble
and fall.

*********

You are with me so I can love and care for my sisters and brothers in Christ.

**********

“For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.”

“For if we live, we live to he Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.”

“Therefore let us not judge one another any more, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.”

Romans 14:7,8,13 NKJV

Our Resting Place

I am the Rod
from the stem of Jesse

the One upon whom
the Spirit rests

full of wisdom
and understanding

I judge the poor
with righteousness.

Jesus establishes our glorious resting place.

“There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
His delight is in the fear of the LORD, and He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears, but with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth . . .
And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting place shall be glorious.” Isaiah 11:1,2,3,4,10 NKJV

Sowers

“Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, ‘Behold, a sower went out to sow.'”  Matthew 13:3

In the parable of the sower and the interpretation Jesus gives to His disciples, He never once faults the sower for where the seed falls.

Oh Jesus, help us to spread Your word as often and as much as we can, not withholding it according  to our judgment of the soil condition of the hearts around us.  Here is a simple poem . . .

Open That Hand

Whatcha gonna do with that seed He brought
gonna hold it tight, with all you’ve got
’til you find the perfect place, just the right spot
where you can make sure it grows, as you think it ought
Oh, whatcha gonna do with that seed He brought?
