Trusting In His Name

I shall leave a meek
and humble remnant

who trust
in My name

who can only
speak the truth

and of no one
be afraid.

**********

I can trust in Your name too, for You are with me.

**********

“I will leave in your midst a meek and humble people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.”

“The remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness and speak no lies, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouths.”

Zephaniah 3:12,13. NKJV

Part 2: Trusting In His Name

I asked God about her. About me taking care of her. He says, “She needs someone to count on. She needs activities to count on.” Then He says, “You can count on me and what I give you to do. You shall trust in the name of the Lord.”

Overcome Evil With Good

Lord, let me not be
overcome with evil

but overcome evil
with good

associating with
the humble

not thinking more of me
than I should.

**********

Because You are with me, I can overcome evil with good.

***********

“Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.”

“Repay no one evil for evil.”

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Romans 12:16,17,21 NKJV

Like This Child

I will change you
by My Spirit

to be like
the little ones

trusting, humble
forgiving

great
in My Kingdom.

You establish my worth to You.

“Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:4 NKJV

A Revived Heart

I dwell in the high
and holy places

of your contrite
humble heart

knowing all
of your ways

able to revive
restore, restart.

You establish revival in my heart.

“I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. I have seen his ways, and will heal him;  I will also lead him, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners.” Isaiah 57:15,18 NKJV

We Shall Walk

Come and I
will teach you

to walk in
My light and ways

to stay humble
and bowed down

exalting Me
throughout your days.

Jesus establishes my walk with Him.

“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. O house of Jacob , come and let us walk in the light of the LORD. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall come upon everything proud and lofty, upon everything lifted up – and it shall be brought low- . . .The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of man shall be brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day . . .” Isaiah 2:3,5,12,17 NKJV

Beautifying Humble

“For the LORD takes pleasure in His
people;
He will beautify the humble with
salvation.”  Psalm 149:4

I’m not sure we could see the beauty of  “humble” without Jesus.

Lord, may we live beautifully humbled by Your salvation.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Beauty of Salvation

jasminhalim.com

jasminhalim.com

Beautifully humble
marvelously low

none of this makes sense
in a world that’s all show

only through Jesus
and the salvation He brings

can the last become first
and the child-like become kings

Can You?

source – sinussister.com

“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,
That an abundance of water may cover you?
Can you send out lightnings, that they may go,
And say to you, ‘Here we are!’ ?”  Job 38:34-35

As God questions Job, I feel myself shrinking.

Lord, thank You for keeping us humble, in a place where we can see all You can do.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

What I Can Do

I can’t order the heavens
or command the seas

nor satisfy the lions
no, none of these

but You can do all things
and all things wonderfully

and I can praise You
and worship eternally.

Tender and Humble Hearts

“But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD . . .this manner you shall speak to him, ‘Thus says the LORD God of Israel: “Concerning the words which you have heard -”  2 Kings 22:18

“because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the  LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the LORD.'”  2 Kings 22:19

We can’t go wrong with a tender and humble heart before God.

Lord, may my first response to You and others be one of tenderness and humility.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Concerning Tender Hearts

When a harder word
comes today
may I not stiffen
and turn away
but bend humbly
and tenderly pray
for Your great mercy
and love that saves.

Being Made Great

“You have also given me the shield of your salvation.
And Your gentleness has made me great.”  2 Samuel 22:36

David fought many battles. Yet it wasn’t his physical strength or leadership skills that saved him and made him great.

Oh Lord, thank You for saving me into greatness and being my Fiercely Gentle  Hero King.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

He Saves Me Gently

I am held
by Your salvation

loved greatly
by the One made small

I am saved
from the destroyer

gently humbled
by my All in All.

The Right Thing To Do

“If brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the widow of the dead man shall not be married to a stranger outside the family; her husband’s brother shall go into her, take her as his wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her.
And it shall be that the first born son which she bears will succeed to the name of his dead brother, that his name may not be blotted out of Israel.” Deuteronomy 25:5-6

What I noticed in this, and the other laws God set forth, is His desire for His people to do the right thing. And the right thing to do wasn’t usually the easiest thing.

Oh Lord, we desire to do what is right in Your sight above what is right in ours. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Doing Right In His Sight

It might be rather humbling
require a letting go
maybe a difficult forgiveness
but He wants you to know
He sees you in this moment
even though it’s hard
making the right choices
because He’s in your heart.
