“Therefore you shall be perfect just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”  Matthew 5:48

This verse comes at the end of Chapter 5 in which Jesus has delivered some hard truths.  I see the word “perfect” and further wilt.

Thank You, Jesus, that You don’t say I HAVE to be perfect.  You say I shall be.  I’ll simple trust Your word on that.  Here’s a simple poem . . .

If You Say So

I look in the mirror
nothing perfect there
not in my speech and actions
which could lead me to despair
until I look at You, Lord
the perfect Holy One
Who says I, too, shall be perfect
before it’s all said and done.

Even If There Were No Heaven

Even If

Even if there were no heaven
no eternity with You,
I would not change my course
nor alter what  I do.

If there were no reward
how could I complain,
when every breath I take
hinges on Your name?

If only this very moment
was all that I had,
I’d be overcome with joy
my heart forever glad.

To know You and be known
to be loved by the Son of Man,
makes one minute seem eternal
and my humble home a Holy Land.

“Search me, O God, and know my heart. . .”  Psalm 139:23

Come and See

My daughter is not okay with just telling me about things.  She needs me to see them too.

Oh Jesus, please help us convey to others the importance of them coming to see You.

Here’s a simple poem to encourage us to bring someone to Jesus.

Enter In

Won’t you come with me
to live forever
in the light of God
and in His glory be?

Please come with me
and let’s drink freely
this water of life
beneath healing trees.

Whatever you do,
do come with me . . .

“And let him who thirsts come.”  Revelations 22:17

A Sunday Poem

“And they do not rest day or night, saying:
Holy,holy, holy
Lord God Almighty,
Who was and is and is to come!
Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and  ever,
the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
You are worthy O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”  Revelation 4:8-11

Upon The Throne

We cast all our crowns
before the One who’s worthy
sitting upon the throne
in all power, honor and glory,
Who created all things
and by His breath each one lives
singing out Holy, Holy, Holy
to the One who was and is.

Making A Way

“I have stretched out My hands all day long. . .”  Isaiah 65:2

Letting Go Of Heaven

I’m putting aside my title
“Lord of Lords, King of Kings”
comin’ as a baby,
doing baby things.
No Wonderful- Counselor right now
gonna build with my hands,
makin’ a bridge to Father
for every sort of man.

p.s. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
