To The Pure

 

To the pure
all things are pure

to the unbelieving
nothing is

choose to know God
and do good works

being obedient
and fully His.

Rich

 

Let us be rich
in good works

ready to give
willing to share

not trusting in
wealth and money

but in our God
and prayer.

Shining Before Men

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:16 NKJV

I could get a little too caught up in shining before men so they see my good works.

Thank You, Lord, for the good works you give in which You are glorified, not me.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Any light in me
is from You

so oh indeed
let it truly shine

in such a way that
You’re seen, not me

and Your Name
is glorified.

God bless you as your good works glorify Him today!

To Be Ready

“Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,
to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.”   Titus 3:1-2

I am listening to this as the November elections draw near.

Lord, as we embrace this scripture for ourselves, we also pray it for those who will be leaders in our country.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

What Good?

What good will come
if we aren’t ready

Opposed

“Likewise exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one being an opponent  may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.”  Titus 2:6-8

Christians will have opponents.

Lord, thank You for making a way for us to live so that nothing evil can be said of us.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Nothing Evil                                                              

Even though quiet
isolated and alone

lives lived for Jesus
will still be known

a contrast to
the darkness around

opposed but in them
no evil is found.

Thoroughly Equipped

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, to correction, for instruction in righteousness,

that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  2 Timothy 3:16-17

Ready

Clearly Evident

“Some men’s sins are clearly evident, proceeding them to judgment, but those of some men follow later.”

“Likewise, the good works of some are clearly evident, and those that are otherwise cannot be hidden.”  1 Timothy 5:24-25

I am encouraged that while sins may be hidden at times, good just can’t be.

Lord, may those who are hurting and lost clearly see the evidence of Your goodness today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Unhidden
