U Turn

Bend your life
into the shape
of
a u-turn

each time you set
yourself against
the truth
of My word.

You establish my ability to turn to You.

“But they did not listen or incline their ear to turn from their wickedness to burn no incense to other gods.” Jeremiah 44:5 NKJV

Continually

I will write My word
upon your heart
for I will surely
lead you

when you’re asleep
or you’re awake
I will always
keep you.

A laid down life is led by God.

“My son, keep your father’s command, and do not forsake the law of your mother. Bind them continually upon your heart; tie them around your neck. When you roam, they will lead you; when you sleep, they will keep you; And when you awake, they will speak with you.” Proverbs 6:20,21,22 NKJV

My Word

I will hide
My word in your heart
causing it
to grow

that it can be
a light as you walk
showing you where
to go.

A laid down life has God’s Word for a light and a lamp.

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, for You shall enlarge my heart. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. “. Psalm 119:11,32,105 NKJV

God’s Word

If I spend my “down time” with God, I am lifted up.

It’s What Comes Out

“Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”  Matthew 15:11 NKJV

The Pharisees were concerned about His disciples not washing their hands before they ate.

Thank You, Lord, for washing us on the inside.  And here’s a simple poem  . . .

Oh Lord You said
it’s what comes out
of a man
that defiles him

so let my heart, my mind
be purified
by Your Word
as it goes in.

God bless you and Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads!

Words That Stand

“Now it happened, when they spoke to him daily and he would not listen to them, that they told it to Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s words would stand; for Mordecai had told them that he was a Jew.”  Esther 3:4

God’s Word will stand forever.

Lord, we desire to live upon the sureness of Your Word.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Staying Power

Promises I’ve kept
and broken

the words I
write and say

will not
last forever

but Yours, Oh Lord
will stay.

God Fractions

“And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of the LORD their God,  for one fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the LORD their God.”  Nehemiah 9:3

The more we read God’s word, the more we know Him and realize how much more we need Him.

Oh Lord, I desire to spend time each day reading Your Word, confessing, praising, worshiping and praying.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Options

There isn’t time for
thoughts that don’t bless
God and others
lifting up Jesus
so throughout the day
let me check and see
if I’m not praying, praising or worshiping
then let it a confession be.

Reading All The Words

“And the king went up to the house of the LORD with all the men of Judah, and with him all the inhabitants of Jerusalem – the priests and the  prophets and all the people, both small and great; and he read it in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant which had been found in the house of the LORD.”  2 Kings 23:2

How blessed I am to be able to hold His word in my own hands, read it with my eyes and hear it as often as I’d like.

Oh Lord, please help us continue to get Your word out to others.  And here is a simple poem . . .

Send It Out

Could I remember Your word
if only once I’d heard it
unable to hold it in my hands
and read it for myself
to turn the pages
and say it out loud
or send it forth
into the hands of others
waiting to touch, to see
to taste how good it is.
