True Judgements

 

I am coming
to judge the earth
in truth and
righteousness.

Blessed are you who
wait and watch
wearing your praise
garments.

Jesus establishes judgements.

“And I heard another from the altar saying, ‘Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgements.’ Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches , and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” Revelation 16:7,15 NKJV

Into His Hands

“And supper being ended, the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him,
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God,
rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself.” John 13:2-4

I’m amazed at how focused Jesus remained on the tasks at hand, given the intensity of the situation.

Oh Lord, may I go out comforted and confident today, doing what You have given me to do for this time, knowing in the end I will be with You for eternity. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Purposed

By God and of God
and from God, He came
To us and for us
because of us, He came
laying His robe
His home, His life aside
picking up our sins, our shame
back to God now, He flies.

Father, Forgive Them

“Then Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do’. And they divided His garments and cast lots.” Luke 23:34

It sure seems like they knew what they were doing. And when I’m wronged, that is most likely what goes through my mind too, rather than how Jesus viewed it.

Oh Lord, we desire to be as willing to forgive as You are. And here’s a simple poem . . .

What We Do

Jesus knew they didn’t know
Who He really was
even when they nailed Him
there upon that cross,

and each time we hurt someone
do we realize the cost,
that the road to forgiveness is purely paved
with the blood that Jesus lost?
