Before You

“And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him.  Behold, I have told you.”  Matthew 28:7

Jesus didn’t tell them to go some place He wasn’t going to be.

Thank You, Lord, for going before us today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I will go
before you

and will make
a way

for you
to follow Me

and do
as I say.

God bless you as He goes before you today!

Long Division

“So there was a division among the people because of Him.” John 7:43

He also divided time and history.

Lord, may those of us who believe be undivided in our love for You and each other. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Who Is He?

Some said You came from Galilee
and couldn’t be the Christ

others said that you spoke words
like no man alive

some said You had a demon
others thought You were divine

I say You are my Jesus
the One who saved my life.

A Jesus Stirring

“But they were the more fierce, saying, ‘He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to this place’.” Luke 23:5

The chief priests were all for people staying stuck right where they were, under their power and control.

Jesus, please come and stir our hearts and lives today. And here’s a simple poem . . .

bring to a boil

there’s something soul simmering
deep inside of me
yearning with abandon
seeking desperately
for more than a look
or a solitary touch
but a continuous stirring
a turning over, a bringing up

Present To Heal

“Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.” Luke 5:17

Did the Pharisees and teachers of the law realize they needed healed? Do I?

Oh Lord, please remind me of my brokenness today and my dire need of You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Willing To

Just as the sick
need the Great Physician
to touch
and heal,
inner brokenness
is redeemed
only by
the Master’s skill.
