Freed To Serve

 

I’ve brought you
out of Egypt

so you can worship
today

setting you free
so you can serve

Me
in every way.

In The Spirit

 

We live and walk
in the Spirit

by which Jesus
set us free

to love and serve
one another

to wait and hope
eagerly.

I can be Spirit led for You are with me.

Freed

 

Jesus was raised
from the dead
by the glory of
the Father

so we can walk
in newness of life
freely
ever after.

Abide In My Word

 

As we abide
in His word

His disciples we
will be

and we will know
the truth

and the truth will set
us free.

You establish Your word and truth for me to abide in.

“Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’ “. John 8:31,32 NKJV

My Commandments

 

I will teach you
the difference

between what’s from men
and what’s from Me

for traditions
snare and entangle

but My commandments
set you free.

You establish Your commandments to Me.

“And He said to them, ‘All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.’ ” Mark 7:9 NKJV

Escape

“Our soul has escaped as a bird from
the snare of the fowlers;
The snare is broken, and we have escaped”  Psalm 124:7

We watched a red tailed hawk soaring into the sky the other day.

Lord, thank You for setting us free from the snare, so we can fly.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I thought, it was
meant to fly.

Leading Captivity Captive

“You have ascended on high,

Jesus came to set the captives free.

Lord, we desire to only be held captivated by You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

and when my thinking gets stinking
You take hold of that too.

No matter what kind of prison
I find myself in

the truth is I’m free
when I believe in Him.

Liberty

My youngest likes to dress up plastic horses.  Sometimes I’m not sure if I’ll manage to get them undone again.

Lord, please come and undo me once again from what I’ve gotten tangled in.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Please Undo Me

I stand
like Lady Liberty
awash
in His mercy
arms raised
to the One who frees
who knows
how to undo me.

Where Would I Go?

“But if the servant plainly says, “I love my Master . . .I will not go out free . . .” he shall serve him forever.”  Exodus 21:5

When my daughters were very young, we found a baby robin after a bad storm.  The oldest painstakingly cared for this little bird named Stormy.  Long after it could fly, it stayed on the porch waiting for her to feed it and to play with her in the sprinkler.

Jesus, I love You!  There is no where else I’d rather be than with You. And here’s a simple poem. . .
