Being Tempted

 

I will fill you with
the Holy Spirit

and the truth of
My word

for when the devil
tempts you

and twists all that
you’ve heard.

You establish a way out of temptation.

“Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.” Luke 4:1,2,13 NKJV

Blessed Are You

 

Blessed are you
when you hunger and thirst
when you mourn
and in spirit are poor

for you shall be filled
and comforted
and the kingdom of heaven
is yours.

You establish the kingdom of heaven for me.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit , for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:3,4,6 NKJV

Filled

 

“So they all ate and were filled.”  Mark 6:42 NKJV

Sometimes I walk right past Jesus with my few loaves and fish, trying to help others.

Thank You, Lord, for taking what I put in Your hands and multiplying it.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

The needs
are many

the hunger
is real

so I’ll give You
what I have

so they
can be filled.

God bless your loaves and fishes today!

Filled

“For the earth will be filled
With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord,
As the waters cover the sea.”  Habakkuk 2:14 NKJV

God’s glory isn’t always recognized.

Thank You, Father, for helping us know more of Your glory this day.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

The earth
will be filled

and all
who are in it

with the knowledge
of Your glory

minute
by minute.

God bless you and fill you with the knowledge of His glory!

Uncontained Glory

“. . .for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.” 1 Kings 8:11

“But will God indeed dwell on the earth?  Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You.  How much less this temple which I have built.”  1 Kings 8:27

God would indeed dwell on the earth and fill it with His glory.

Lord, thank You for coming to dwell in such a lowly fragile frame as ours and filling us with the glory of Your Holy Spirit.  And here is a simple poem . . .

Glory Filled

What can contain You
where can You dwell

if heaven is too small
surely we are as well

yet another one of
those mysteries of Yours

how You can live inside us
and make Your glory ours.
