The Goal

 

Love
from a pure heart

from a good conscience
from sincere faith

not giving need to
senseless disputes

but to godly edification
and grace.

Edification

 

Let all things be done
for edification

all teaching, tongues
and revelations

so all who come
will be convinced

that God is here
within our midst.

You are with me so that I can bring edification.

“And then the secrets of his heart are revealed, and so, falling down on his face. He will worship God and report that God is truly among you.”

“How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.”

Leading To Edification

“Let each of us please his neighbor, for his good, leading to edification.” Romans 15:2

Edification requires more than just me, thinking about me, doing for myself.

Lord, the Western Church is seen as being mostly “me” centered. Please forgive us Lord, and help us become more selfless in our worship and service to You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

what Love
would do.
