Then They Cried Out

When you cry out
in your troubles
and I come
to your rescue

what once was
distressing
will have no power
over you.

A laid down life is delivered out of its distresses.

“Then they cried out to the LORD in their troubles and He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right way. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their chains in pieces. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” Psalm 107:6,7,14,20 NKJV

Kept

Set your love
upon Me
make Me your
dwelling place

for I can
deliver you
and keep you
in all your ways.

A laid down life is covered by God and His truth.

“He shall cover you with His feathers. His truth shall be your shield and buckler. Because you have made the Lord your habitation, no evil shall befall you. For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. Because he has set his love upon Me , therefore I will deliver him.” Psalm 91:4,9,11,14 NKJV

“How Have I Wearied You?”

“Oh My people, what have I done to you?
And how have I wearied you?
Testify against Me.”  Micah 6:3

“For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt,
I redeemed you from the house of bondage;
And I sent before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam.”  Micah 6:4 NKJV

If I feel weary, it’s time to turn to God.

Thank You, Lord, for delivering me out of wearisome places and giving me rest.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

If I’m
feeling weary
and the opposite
of blessed

let me turn
to You, Lord
for deliverance
and rest.

God bless you and give you rest!

Foreign

“Stretch out Your hand from above;
Rescue me and deliver me out of
great waters,
From the hand of foreigners,
Whose mouth speaks vain words,
And whose right hand is a right
hand of falsehood.”  Psalm 144:7-8

David repeats this statement twice in Psalm 144, not afraid of being politically incorrect.

Lord, please deliver me from all “foreign” thoughts, and the vain words and false actions that can follow.  And here is a simple poem . . .

At The Waters Of Meribah

“You called in trouble, and I
delivered you;
I answered you in the secret place
of thunder;
I proved you at the waters of Meribah.”  Psalms 81:7

God is always working . . .even in the hard places.

Lord, I desire to listen for You and have faith more and more and more.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I have heard of
your great trouble

and I will deliver
you in time

listen for Me
in the thunder

know in the desert
you are Mine.

Anti-Oppressive

“. . .the earth feared and was still,
When God arose to judgement,
To deliver all the oppressed of the earth.”  Psalms 76:8-9

To oppress means: 1.) to weigh heavily on the mind of; burden  2.) to keep down by the cruel or unjust use of authority  3.)  to cause physical or mental distress.

Lord, thank You for being so anti-oppressive.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

De-Stressed

Though once weighed
down by your sins
and a cruel cross
I’ll never oppress you.

My burden is light
My yoke is easy
and I have come
to save you.

A Banner

“You have given a banner to those who fear You,
That it may be displayed because of the truth,
That Your beloved may be delivered,
Save with Your right hand, and hear me.”  Psalms 60:4-5

God sets the truth in us and over us.

Lord, may Your truth be plainly displayed in us.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Flying Free

You make us
into banners

and fly us
for all to see

filled with
Your truth and love

proclaiming
“Jesus set us free!”

Father, May I?

Have You not delivered my feet
from falling,
That I may walk before God
In the light of the living?”  Psalms 56:13

Whenever I just about fall, it sure gets my attention back on where I’m walking.

Thank You, Lord, for delivering me so I can walk before You now.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

I wasn’t saved
so I could just fall

for I’ve been given
a clear testimony

to freely walk out
before God and all.

Out Of Trouble

“I will freely sacrifice to You;
I will praise Your name, O LORD, fo
r it is good.
For He has delivered me out of all trouble . . .”  Psalms 54:6-7

A line from the movies comes to mind . . .”Are you looking for trouble?”

Lord, we desire to seek You and Your ways as You deliver us from trouble.  And here is a simple poem . . .

Troubleshooting

Troubles come
and troubles go

and we don’t want
to see them grow

so we stay close
to You and pray

giving You  our thoughts
our lives, our ways.

Delighted In

“He also brought me out into a broad place;
He delivered me because He delighted in me.”  Psalm 18:19

God doesn’t deliver us because He feels He has to, or should, but because He wants to.

Lord, thank You for taking delight in us. May we delight in You as well! And here’s a simple poem . . .

Always

I delight in you
in the dead of night
during your darkest day
I’m loving you, always.

I delight in you
when everything’s alright
in the midst of praise
I’m loving you, always.
