Faithfulness and Truth

 

My counsels
of old
are faithfulness
and truth

all
other noise
I’ll quietly
reduce.

Jesus establishes my counsel.

“O LORD, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. You will reduce the noise of aliens, as heat in a dry place; as heat in the shadow of a cloud, the song of the terrible ones will be diminished.” Isaiah 25:1,5 NKJV

With God

 

I am
the Lord your God
the great
I AM

no wisdom
or counsel against Me
will ever be able
to stand.

A laid down life stands with God.

“There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the LORD.” Proverbs 21:30 NKJV

Instruction

 

Ask Me for wisdom
and understanding
accept My counsel
and reproof

for this is the way
to knowledge
how to dwell safe
and secure.

A laid down life receives instruction.

“A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. Turn at my reproof; surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you. Whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil.” Proverbs 1:5,7,23,33 NKJV

Purposed To Defeat

“So Absalom and all the men of Israel said, ‘The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel’.  For the Lord had purposed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring disaster on Absalom.”  2 Samuel 17:14

Lord, we thank You for having the final say about what happens to us.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

When I Consider

Plans are made every day
and all of them aren’t good

like when we tried to kill You
as if we ever could

and I can worry about
what is being done

or consider the resurrection
glory of the Son.
