Of Complaints and Such

“When he had come, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood about and laid many serious complaints against Paul, which they could not prove . . .” Acts 25:7

The enemy lays out some serious complaints against me each day.

Lord, I am so thankful that Satan’s accusations have all been forgiven me and washed away by Your blood. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Back At Ya

Much is said
as accusations

attempts to take
each believer out

tossed like hand grenades
that Jesus catches

diffusing bombs
of fear and doubt.

Grumble, Grumble, Gripe, Gripe

“Your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.”  Exodus 16:8

I’d prefer to think I’m not like those children of Israel who so quickly forgot God’s miracles and complained to Moses and Aaron about being hungry.  But, I am like them every time I grumble about anything or anyone.

Jesus, thank You for being my Healer, my Provider, my everything.  No matter what circumstances I’m in, You see me and have me covered.  Please forgive me when I lose sight of that.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Complaints Obsolete

Mouth, why do you turn down
and bitterly complain
as if you haven’t got a loving Father
Who knows your heart, your name.

No matter who or what I grumble about
He hears it just the same,
like I’m saying He isn’t able –
I discount His glory and fame.

What helps you keep from complaining?
