Lord let me not fall
into comparisons

or struggle to
commend

knowing only
Your approval

is what matters
in the end.

Commend means to put in the care of another; to entrust. (Webster’s New World Dictionary)

We can only do
what we can do

for it’s never really
about us

giving others
to the Lord

trusting in the grace
of Jesus.

Comparing and Measuring

When I’m around someone who commends their self, I begin to feel less than them.

Lord, please give me the wisdom and grace to be with those who promote themselves without giving in to the temptation to do likewise.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Seal of Approval

I’ve found it is best for me
to just turn away

when measuring and comparing start
and not enter that fray

but stick close to You
listening to what You say

and let the blessing of Your presence
be my commendation for this day.
