As Dear Children

 

Let the words
from my mouth

be simply
thankful ones

as an imitator
of God

lighted by
His Son.

The Little Children

 

Let the little ones
come to me

as many as
you can

remembering you’re
a child too

holding onto
My hand.

You establish how I come to You.

Give Me Children!

Sometimes we expect too much from one another.

Thank You, Lord, for being our ultimate first responder.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

We can’t
fix things
the way
God can

but can have
compassion
being His feet
and hands.

God bless you as you turn to Him first today!

His Arrows

“Behold children are a heritage from
the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is His reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a
warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.”  Psalm 127:3-4

Not every child is seen as a reward by their parents.

Lord, please help us understand our heritage as Your much loved children.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Within His Quiver

Kept as arrows
close by His side

within His quiver
we abide

until sent out
when the time is right

to pierce the darkness
with His light.

His Hands On Us

“Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray . . .”  Matthew 19:13
“And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.”  Matthew 19:15

To have someone lay their hands on you can have a bad connotation.  But not in this case.

Oh Jesus, I pray for You to lay Your hands on all of us, Your children.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Touched

And if You lay Your hands on me
will it not show,
or will it be only
for You and I to know?

And if You lay Your hands on me
will I not be blessed,
with all past wounds fading
being touched by Your tenderness?

Who’s The Greatest?

“Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 18:4

Little children are humble in how they trust and believe, not ashamed to ask questions and learn from others . . .completely unassuming.

O Lord, help me  trust and believe more and more in You who are the greatest, instead of desiring to be great myself.  Here’s a simple poem . . .

Kingdom Equations

a little humility > grown-up pride
infant trust > full blown cynicism
child like faith > man sized doubts
the kingdom of heaven > anything we’ve known
