Great Things

“When the LORD brought back the
the captivity of Zion,
we were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with
laughter,
And our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations
The LORD has done great things for them.
The LORD has done great things for us,
Where of , we are glad.”   Psalm 126:1-3

Jesus came to set the captives free.

Lord, bring back our captivity that the nations may proclaim You have done great things for us.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

We who were captives
now released by the King

can’t help but laugh
and from our mouth’s sing.

Once led away to where
we weren’t meant to be

now our gladness testifies
“Look what He’s done for me.”

Taking Back The Captives

“Now these are the people of the province who came back from the captivity, of those who had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, had carried away to Babylon.”  Ezra 2:1

Captivity is all some have ever known.

Lord, we praise You for You have come to set the captives free.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Carried Back

Celia being held captive by Aub

Taken away
to a foreign land

lives placed under
the enemy’s command

we cry out
for them to return again

to the Love they were made for
deep in the heart of Him.

Returning

“Then the men who were designated by name rose up and took the captives, and from the spoil they clothed all who were naked among them, dressed them and gave them sandals, gave them food and drink, and anointed them; and they let all the feeble ones ride on donkeys.  So they brought them to their brethren at Jericho, the city of palm trees.  Then they returned to Samaria.”  2 Chronicles 28:15

I once was held captive by sin, ransacked and naked, starving and bereft of hope.

Lord, thank You for saving me, restoring me and returning me to the place I belong . . with You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Brought Back

Love clothes me
and feeds me
and fills up
my flaws.
Love anoints me
and establishes me
in the presence
of all.
