A Well Of Life

The work of your hands
leads to life
and your mouth
is a living well

feeding many
and giving a drink
of the Good News
that you tell.

A laid down life has an everlasting foundation.

“The mouth of the righteous is a well of life. The labor of the righteous leads to life. The lips of the righteous feed many. The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.” Proverbs 10:11,16,21 NKJV

How good it is
to dwell in unity
to raise your hands
and bless your Lord

its like precious oil
running down upon you
like dew descending

A laid down life is united with God and His people.

“Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. It is like the precious oil upon the head , running down on the bead, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing – life forevermore.” Psalm 133:1,2,3. NKJV

From This Day Forward

“Is the seed still in the barn?  As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit.  But from this day forward I will bless you.”  Haggai 2:19

The people had suffered through drought, blight, mildew and hail.

Thank You, Lord, for helping us move forward into Your blessings as we turn to You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Seems like it’s been
a tough year here

not much planted
not much fruit

oh let me always
turn forward with You, Lord

watching for the blessings
of new beginnings and shoots.

God bless you from this day forward!

According To The Blessing

” . . .and they shall not appear before the Lord empty handed. Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.” Deuteronomy 16:17

I read this as God saying everyone will be blessed.

Oh Lord, we desire to rejoice over Your blessings and give them back to You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Before Him

You love
what You created

plan for our good
and to bless

so may my eyes see
what You are doing

may my heart rejoice
in thankfulness.

New Neighbors

“Then he sent messengers to Balaam . . .to call him, saying, ‘Look, a people has come from Egypt. See, they cover the face of the earth, and are settling next to me!’ ” Numbers 22:5

Balak goes on to ask Balaam to curse his new neighbors. He wants them gone. And I wonder if I have been less than welcoming when change settles in.

Oh Lord, please change how I view change, that I might be a blessing and not a curse. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Settling With Change

Each time change comes
I can decide
whether to embrace it
or turn it aside.
